The Peruvian Hipsters were formed in the summer of 1983 by Nigel Buckland (guitar/vocals) Ashley Evans (vocals/guitar) Phil Holt (bass) And Jeff Hughes (drums) The Hipsters were birthed out of the remnants of Perspex Tuma, The Leather Adults and Grabby Aunt.
They played together for nearly ten years. They had moderate success with girls but absolutely no interest from record companies. This was mainly due to the fact that they were based in the Rhondda Valley in South Wales a place of no cultural significance and nil music industry infrastructure. |
