Working on skids and lift duct opening
I installed two L shaped brackets on the canopy posts with two hose clamps each  to keep my wood off the ground.
All 35 holes on each skid were predrilled with a #8 countersink drill bit spaced 4" apart
using #8x2" stainless steel screws.

The skids were cut in half from a 2x4x12 on a radial arm saw. When they are cut exactly in half both halves are the same which one goes on the right side and one goes on the left side of the hovercraft hull.
I am using epoxy and microballoons to bond the wood together. As the wood presses tight together the epoxy mix squeezes out  insuring a more watertight seal.
I coated the front of the craft with epoxy to protect it from the elements as the front of the craft goes right to the end of the canopy.
