FORTRESS  MARIENBURG  CASTLE
WURZBURG  GERMANY BUILT 1657
Here are some pictures of the Marienburg castle taken in January 28, 1978 in Wuerzburg Germany. I had bought about 200 feet of rope and several of us would explore all around the castle grounds late at night about 10pm till 3am. There were lots of secret tunnels hidden rooms, and chambers.  No we wern't suspose to be there at night however a few beers made everything ok. The main castle walls are  about 4 feet thick on top and about 25 feet thick on the bottom and filled with gravel in the middle.
The corner pointed sections of the castle  have one wall after another going all the way  down to the water.
This side of the castle has about six walls to climb over to reach the castle
This watch tower is about eighty feet wide and has three floors and a stone spiral staircase with most of the steps missing. There is a huge oven on the bottom floor. There is a tunnel that goes from the castle to the watch tower.
