To the Class of '99
it wasn't so bad afterall

We made it
It's hard to believe
But we finally made it
No more pop quizzes
No more late nights studying
Trying desparately to pass that one class

Our final year had finally come to a close
Soon we will walk across that stage
Reach out with one hand
And return with the one thing our eyes have been set on

Then the summer will come
One last party with our friends
Crying, but trying to hold back the tears
Knowing that soon it will all be over

This fall, instead of geting up for our first day back
We'll be saying goodbye
Friends will drift apart
Ties will be broken
Families will be a distant thing
Except on holidays

When the first midterm rolls around
While studying at 3am, your mind will start to wander
Thinking back at all the things you did
The football and basketball games
Teh plays, concerts, championships
You think about Prom and Homecoming
The Valentine's dance and all the rest
Pep rallies, going out with your friends at lunch
The few teachers who knew you and you could call a friend

You'll look back at all the bad times
The good times
And the times that were too crazy to explain
Memories will wander
From one moment to the next

And no matter how stupid you thought high school was
You'll think to yourself
It wasn't so bad afterall
