Ah, supplies. The ritual and magickal boosters that can drain a Witch's pocket. What to do, what to do...?

First off, always remember that you don't NEED any tools or supplies. You can work magick and hold ritual by just standing outside and waving your arms. Granted, you'll look a little funny to your neighbors, but then, you'd still look funny with the athame and the candles casting witchy illumination all over the place. Tools and supplies are merely things to focus your power and attention, to help you zone in on that purpose. Use them if you feel you must or if you would like to. It's up to you.

Also, if you don't have one tool, and can't afford to buy it at the moment, then substitute! Just like herbs and oils have substitutes that one can use, so do tools! If you don't have a cauldron, use a fire-safe and waterproof bowl that's been cleansed and consecrated. If you don't have a wand, use a small tree limb that has been stripped of the bark and annointed with oil (many Witches do this anyway to create their wand. It gives it more power). If you still don't have a wand, use an athame. If you don't have an athame, use a wand. If you don't have either, use your finger. See where I'm going with this?

You don't need a myriad of supplies and tools in order to make your magick work. All the magick you will ever need is already of you. Keep that always in mind.

Listed below are some common tools and supplies used during ritual and magickal work. See the Book of Shadows for descriptions.
