So you've made the choice to work as a solitary, at least for the time being. Good for you!

But how do you do it?

Solitary work has its pros and cons, just as working with a coven does. In solitary work, you have the benefit of having spontaneous rituals. You do it how you want to. You use the tools you want to, you dress how you want to (or don't!), you do it when you want to, you do it where you want to, you do it why you want to. Also, the outcome of a magickal working depends on you and you alone. While it is harder to raise power and it will leave you more exhausted, it also gives you the confidence that the power is going for your directed purpose; you don't have to worry about a covenmember who's having a bad day or isn't focusing properly.

This section is relatively short, simply because actually working solitary isn't all that different from working in the coven setting. Granted, the solitary is doing all of the work, but they are always receiving all of the result. Also, the coven atmosphere may be more supportive, more organized, which may be beneficial to some. It all depends on your choice of working atmosphere.

However, if you are working solitary, it is strongly recommended that you network and webweave with other Wiccans in your area. Go to Pagan festivals, attend Pagan Pride days. Go to open Wiccan circle and celebrations. Take a class or two. Get out there and meet people! Just because you're working solitary doesn't mean that you should lock yourself away and isolate yourself from the rest of the Wiccan community. In fact, it demands that you do the opposite in order to get the full experience!

Also, don't feel threatened. Even if you are learning, you are no less Wiccan than someone who has been practicing 20 years. Just get out there. Believe me, it will help your moral and confidence in yourself, which will in turn boost your magickal workings!
