BUTZ Chocobo rider/Roaming like an idiot/Gets caught up in fate

Butz, also known as Bartz, is the main character in Final Fantasy 5. He was born in the town of Lix, to the late Dorgan and Stella. As a young man, he left Lix to be like his father. When Butz and his loyal chocobo Boko went to see the meteor that had fallen near Tycoon, he met Reina and Galuf and they started off on an adventure that would end up saving the world.

FARIS Brave woman warrior/Breaking gender boundaries/Yarr! Female captain!

Faris is the captain of a group of pirates, who, although are rough guys, are nice. ...Except... Faris isn't really a guy! She's the eldest princess of Tycoon, who, bored with royal life, dressed as a male and became a pirate. When the other three find the pirates in search of a way to get to the Wind Shrine due to the mysterious halt of the wind, she takes them there with her ship pulled by her kindhearted friend Hydra.

GALUF Hero of the past/Warrior 'cross generations/Martyr of today

Galuf is an older man who's still got fight in him. Butz and Lenna find him unconscious by Tycoon meteor. He seems to have some sort of relationship with the meteor (explained with Krile). When he was knocked unconscious, he got amnesia and didn't remember his past, except for his name, and, later, his granddaughter Krile. As a young man, he was one of the four dawn warriors who sealed up X-Death.

KRILE Adorable girl/Takes on her grandfather's role/Powerful fighter

- - - SPOILERS! - - - Krile, or Cara, is the last character to join. She is the granddaughter of Galuf and the princess of Kuzer, in another world. She and Galuf both came to Butz's world (at different times) via meteors. When Butz and co. are in Krile's world to find Galuf, who had gone back home to help those there, Krile will join. After Galuf died battling X-Death, his spirit tells Krile to go with the others.

REINA Innocent princess/When faced with a dilemma/Opts for heroism

Reina, or Lenna in the emulator version, is the pink-haired princess of Tycoon. Reina's mother passed away several years ago, when she fell ill with a disease that could only be cured with a hiryuu tounge... And there was only one hiryuu left in the world, so the queen couldn't make it. (I guess hiryuus are dependent upon their tongues to live???) After the meteor fell near the castle, King Tycoon went to check it out. Disobeying her father's orders, Reina went to the meteor too on her hiryuu, and met up with Butz.
