"What?" Carly said the first thing that popped into her head."Yeah. You're a few weeks along and your body's trying to let you know that you have another life begining to grow in you." The doctor grinned happy for Carly.
"Pregnant?" Carly repeated and the placed her face in her hands.
"I take it this was an unexpected pregnacy?" The doctor's grin vanished.
"Unexpected? No, just inconceivable." Carly now put her hand over her mouth placed her hand on her mouth, "What am I going to do?"
"Well, I have many pamphlets that you might like to read." The doctor handed her some tiny booklets she had in her pocket.
Carly shook her head, "No, I know I'll keep it. It's just now I have to go tell daddy."
The doctor nodded, "I can recommend a wonderful doctor for you to visit frequently with about your baby. "The doctor handed her a card.
Carly took it and said, "May I please have a moment?"
"Sure. Just tell the nurse when you have left." The doctor turned to Carly before leaving, "Ms. Bensen, it may be none of my business but sometimes one caring and loving parent is better than two arguing and non-loving parents."
"Thank you, Doctor." Carly replied as the doctor left. Carly quietly sobbed in her hands both for happiness and sadness.
**********Jason sat at his desk trying to think of something he could say to Carly that would somehow kind of make up for what he had done. He waited by the window for Carly. Carly walked in dazed and confused. Jason ran to her, "Carly?"
"I got some good news and bad news." Carly spat out.
"Ok. Good news first." Jason instructed.
Carly scratched her hair, "Good news I'm not sick."
Jason shrugged, "Bad news?"
"How do I say this?" Carly ran her hands through her hair, "In nine months we'll have another Morgan." Carly told him. She was so worried about his response.
Jason sat next to her on the couch silent at first then struggling to say something then he choked out, "Your preg--" He couldn't even say it.
"Pregnant." Carly finished for him, "It's yours." Carly confirmed.
Jason smiled, "I didn't doubt that."
Carly had to tell him her plan so far, "I'm not sure what you're thinking about right now but I just want you to know I'm keeping this baby. I won't give it up and it's not to cause trouble or hurt someone it's because it's a human being. I mean this child didn't ask to be brought into this world." Carly tilted her head a little, "Maybe this is god's gift to me as a way to remember that night."
Jason turned to her with admiration in his eyes," That's the most beautiful thing I've ever heard, Carly." Jason took her into his arms, "Maybe you're right somebody might be trying to tell us something."
Carly hadn't felt his arms around her for weeks. She missed the way it felt. She nuzzled his neck and closed her eyes. He had the most gentle and caring touch she had ever felt. This was too good to be true. Jason pulled away, "I don't know what it is though."
"They're saying you need to choose, Jason. And from the look on your face I'm probaly not your choice and that's ok. I could have raised Michael alone, I can raise this baby myself if I have to." Carly stated.
"I don't want you to think you have to do this on your own." Jason tried to hold her again but Carly stood and walked away from him.
Carly walked to the door, "Jason, I know you love Robin and I'm not trying to say you shouldn't I'm just saying stop telling me you love me when you don't mean it."
"I did mean it,Carly. I do mean it." Jason was sure his heart belonged to Robin or Carly. But the more and more he thought about it he began to think it was Carly's.
"Then tell Robin." Carly demanded.
**********Robin searched her purse looking for her keys but couldn't find them. She finally pulled them out before the elevator stopped. She walked to Jason's door and heard him and Carly.
"How am I supposed to tell her, Carly?"Jason didn't want to do that to Robin. As much the situation had to be out in the open he didn't want to bring it out.
"Jason, just tell her the truth. You realized you felt more for me than you thought and we made love on that island. That's all I want!"
Robin opened the door to Jason and Carly, "What?" Robin pointed to Carly, "You slept with her?"
Jason didn't say anything and Carly thought for sure he'd deny it.
"Why?" Robin closed her eyes and put her hands in front of her, "You know what I don't want to know." She slammed the door after she exited.
Jason looked at Carly. Carly knew Jason would go after him and he did. She didn't cry though. The tears were in her eyes but she refused to let them fall. Carly went upstairs to get Michael. Michael grinned and giggled. Carly hoped her second child was as beautiful as Michael. She got Michael ready and grabbed her jacket. She opened the door and left the penthouse.
