~ Life Lines ~
He walks around my thoughts
with ease,
a string of joy
prepared to please;
a tightrope act
designed to tease -
then he will run.
Past arrows sketch
his changing scene;
a futurescape
will print his genes.
A tumbled track
proves he has been -
he's just begun.
An arch glowed bright
when he arrived;
ancestral hopes
pursue his drive,
projecting prayers
that he'll survive -
he is my son.
