John F. Paye Sr. of Winter Haven died of complications from a stroke on Friday, February 24, 2006 at Tampa General Hospital. He was 67.
Born February 7, 1939, in Peacham, Vermont, Mr. Paye moved to Winter Haven from Fayetteville, North Carolina in 1976. He served in the Army as a paratrooper for 20 years and reached the rank of sergeant first class. He served in Vietnam. He was a member of American Legion Post 8, Winter Haven; Veterans of Foreign Wars; and Winter Haven Moose Lodge. He attended Cumberland Baptist Church.
Mr. Paye is survived by his wife of 47 years, Roberta L. Paye; one son, one daughter, two brothers, one sister, five grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.
