JACK VALLIERE

March 15, 2009



Jack Valliere, 74, of Winter Haven, Florida, passed on March 15, 2009 from complications resulting from a heart attack. He was born on January 25, 1935.
Jack grew up in Torrington, Connecticut and spent all of his working life there. He worked as a machinist for Pheoll of New England and retired from the Torrington Company in 1997.
Prior to embarking on his working career, Jack served in the United States Navy from 1952 to 1956. The USA was engaged in the Korean War during the time of Jack's military service obligation.
Jack was a stand out in three sports in high school. He starred in baseball, basketball, and football.
During his adult life, Jack played on several baseball and basketball teams.
He moved to Winter Haven in 1999 and became involved in softball with the Winter Haven Senior Softball Club and the Lakeland Senior Softball program . He served on the Board of Directors in Winter Haven and also managed a team during the Snowbird Season.
Jack was a member of the American Legion and managed the Florida Half Century tournament team for several years.
He is survived by daughter Dolores of Torrington, Connecticut and sons Robert, of Torrington, and Willliam, of St. Albans, Vermont.
