In mixer combine flour, butter, and brown sugar. Blend until particles are fine. Stir in walnuts. Reserve 1 c for topping. Press remainder in an ungreased 8" square pan. Bake 12-15 mins. until lightly brown.
Combine remaining ingredients and mix well. Spread over crust and sprinkle with remaining crumb mixture.
Bake 25 mins 350°. Cool, cut into squares.
