Melt butter in small saucepan over low heat. Add half of the white chocolate, and remove from heat. (Do not stir)
Beat eggs at medium speed with electric mixer until thick & pale; gradually add sugar, beating well.
Combine flour, baking powder, & salt; add to egg mixture, mixing just until blended. Stir in melted white chocolate mixture & vanilla. Fold in remaining chopped white chocolate.
Spoon mixture into a greased 8" square pan. Sprinkle with almonds. Bake at 350 F for 32 to 35 minutes. Cool & cut into bars.
