Cream sugar with shortening. Add remaining ingredients in order given & beat well.
Drop by teaspoonfuls onto ungreased baking sheets.
Bake at 350 degrees until edges are lightly browned,
about 8 to 10 minutes. Remove from pan & cool on rack. Frost when cool.
FROSTING:
Mix 2 cups powdered sugar, 2 Tblsp. butter & 2 to 3 Tblsp. orange juice. If too runny, add more powdered sugar, if too thick to spread, add a tiny bit of orange juice until the right consistency.
