12 Oz. unsweetened chocolate. Chop into small pieces
1/2 cup unsalted butter
1 can sweetened condensed milk
8 oz. graham crackers, broken
1/3 cup raisins
4 oz. dried, pitted peaches, coarse chop
1/2 cup hazelnuts or pecans, coarse chop
Line a 7x11 Inch cake pan with plastic wrap, let 2 sides extend over
edges of pan.
Melt chocolate and butter in a large heatproof bowl over a pan of
simmering water. Stir until well mixed.
Pour the condensed milk into the chocolate & butter mixture. Beat
with a wooden spoon until creamy.
Add the broken graham crackers, raisins,
chopped peaches & hazelnuts. Mix well until all the ingredients are coated in
the rich chocolate sauce. Pour the mixture into the prepared pan, making
sure it is pressed well into the corners. Leave the top craggy. Cool,
then chill until set. Lift out of the pan using the plastic wrap & then
peel it off. Cut into 12 bars & serve immediately.
Note: May substitute chocolate grahams for regular graham crackers & may substitute dried apricots for peaches.
