Blend crust ingredients together, place half of crumb mixture into pan, pressing down firmly saving other half of ingredients for top
Mix together dates, sugar, corn starch and 1 cup hot water. Cook over medium heat until thickened. Let cool slightly and add vanilla. Spread filling over bottom layer of crumb mixture; sprinkle the rest of the crumb mixture over filling; add small amounts of oatmeal to fill any gaps required.
Bake @ 400 degrees for 20 minutes.
