Danish Dessert Bars


Preheat oven to 325 degrees. Cut together butter, 1 cup flour, and powdered sugar with a pastry blender or fork until it resembles coarse meal. Pat over bottom of a 10-inch by 14-inch cookie sheet. Bake 12 to 15 minutes. Remove from oven; cool.

Mix beaten eggs with brown sugar, 2 tablespoons flour, coconut, vanilla, baking powder and salt. Spread over cooled crust. Return to oven; bake 20 minutes.


Makes 24

If you like, you can mix some powdered sugar with just enough milk to make a drizzling consistency, and drizzle this icing over the baked bars.
