Cream Crisco, nutmeg, salt and vanilla with sugar. Add eggs and sour cream and beat well. This mixture should be smooth and light yellow colored.
Stir in flour, soda, and baking powder. Dough will be sticky but put in fridge to chill for at least a half an hour. Usually I will make in the evening and keep in fridge until morning and then roll them out and bake them.
Roll out to a 1/4 inch thickness. Cut in 2 or 3 inch rounds. I put a dab of jam or jelly in center and bake in 400º oven for 8 to 10 minutes.
