Swedish Ginger Cookies


Cream butter and sugar. Add egg and beat till fluffy. Add orange peel, syrup, and water. Mix well.

Combine dry ingredients, stir into creamed mixture. Chill dough.

On floured surface roll to 1/8". Cut in desired shapes.

Place 1" apart on greased baking sheet.

Top each cookie with almond half.

Bake 375° 8-10 minutes.


About 8 dozen
To add sparkle to cookies sprinkle rolled dough with sugar and then press in lightly with rolling pin.
