Combine first seven ingredients. Add butter, egg, raisins and applesauce and beat 2 minutes.
Spread in greased 9 x 13" baking pan. Bake 350° 25-30 minutes till center springs back to touch. Cool, cut into squares.
Frosting:
Melt butter in pan till brown. Stir in milk, sugar and vanilla. Beat until smooth. Add more milk if needed to thin.
