Sift flour; add baking powder, salt, soda and sift again.
Cream shortening, add sugars gradually and cream together until light and fluffy.
Add flour mixture, coconut and oats. Mix together thoroughly.
Shape dough into small balls and place on ungreased cookie sheet in a 375º oven
for 12-15 minutes.
Makes 1-1/2 to 2 dozen
Note: At Christmas time I like to add a little bit of red and green maraschino cherries, (that have been cut into small pieces or halves) on top of the cookies before I bake them.
