Anise Cookies


Sift flour three times with baking powder.

In a medium bowl at medium speed, blend in margarine with the sugar until very light. Add eggs, one at a time, and beat after each addition. Add anise extract. Add the flour mixture and beat at a low speed until well blended.

Divide the mixture in half, spread each half on a greased and floured cookie sheet, shaping each into an oval. Mold each oval into a mound, the sides low, the middle thick, and each oval about 12 inches long.

Bake for 20 minutes at 350º or until pale golden brown.

Remove from oven and cut into 1-inch slices and cut and cut and cut

Turn each slice over on its side and you bake it another 10 to 15 minutes until golden brown. what you have are crescent-shaped cookies.

Tip:LET DRY. Great dipping them in coffee
