In February 2001, we took our Family vacation to California to visit Kit's sister Laurie and her family. Kit's parents were also in California at the time and we stayed with them while we were out there.
It was Joshua's first plane ride ever and Austin's first plane ride since he was 9 months old. They both enjoyed flying.
The boys got to feed the animals at the Orange County Zoo
We spent a day at Disneyland with the boys, Kit's parents and Laurie and her two girls. Austin and I went back another day just the two of us. Austin's favorite ride was It's a Small World. I think we went on that about five times. I took about 50 pictures at Disneyland, but that would take up too much space on this web page, so I am putting only 4 here.
Kit and I drove the boys down to San Diego one day to visit the world famous San Diego Zoo. We saw lots of animals and rode the tour bus through the park.
They boys enjoyed getting close up to the animals during their trip to the zoo.
Here I take a moment to pose with Josh and let someone else run the camera for a change. We had a lot of fun that day.
If you've never heard of Legoland in California, you have to see it next time you go. Especially if you have preschool kids. Everything there is made of legos. They day started cloudy, and it looked like rain which kept a lot of people away. It was nice because it never did rain that day and there were no lines for any of the rides.
Here Kit and Austin are driving a Lego™ boat through the lake. Austin always through it was funny to drive off course and hit things. Josh and I were in our own boat and we navigated the course perfectly.
Here Josh is talking to a lego man taller than he is. I don't know why, but it looks like they're picking a fight.
While we were in California, we also visited the Ocean.
We got to see relatives. Here Austin is posing with his Uncle Dave on the left and with his cousin Annika on the right.
