THINGS YET TO DO
by Delta Story
April 2005
I’m not letting go; I refuse to do that.
The heat of your touch warms my icy skin,
your trembling hands shake life into me.
The heavy moisture from your tears falls onto me
in your effort to revitalize ebbing life.
I hear you call my name, but your voice is fading.
You hold me close to you as your heartbeat wills itself
to restart my rapidly disappearing one.
I’m not letting go; there are things yet to be done:
I must get Voyager home.
And I refuse to leave this life
without telling you how much I love you.
