My Immediate family

Olga Faybushevich – my mother. I can’t understand how she managed to put up with me for all these years. For that, I’m eternally grateful. I just wish she would slow down once in a while and get some rest for god’s sake.

Leonya Faybushevich – my uncle, he migrated here in May 2000, and is doing very well. I can always count on him for anything. His wife, Olga, and daughter Vicky are also great. Well, what do you expect – they’re Faybushevich.

Other Family

Sophie Kogan, (second from left)  my cousin – she is currently attending Binghampton University in NY. While not a lot of people heard of it, it’s actually a pretty good school. While she’s almost an adult,  Sophie doesn’t understand the meaning of ‘being late’. Everywhere she goes - she’s late. She thinks that if she’s 10 minutes late, she’s early. ½ hour late, she on time. Still, we’re very close and I love her to death.

Her parents, Faina and Misha Kogan. (first and last from left)  They’re both doctors. Misha used to be a professional boxer, so try to stay on his good side if you ever meet him. His wife Faina… well, Sophie had to have gotten her good looks and her brain from somewhere…

Boris Esterkes. (in the center) He’s a designer for Reebok… or was it Nike. Either way, he’s a great guy, although he speaks very fast. He's also very good in soccer and hockey. People say that we look alike, so I guess you can say he’s a good-looking guy. Even though we’re not real brothers, I consider him one.

Valentina Esterkes. Wife of my grandmother’s brother Alexander Esterkes, she’s an unbelievable cook, and an amazing person altogether. Tragically, Alexander, whom I’d like to think of as my grandfather, passed away in November 28, 2000. They celebrated their 50 Year Anniversary in 1998… I still have a hard time believing that he is gone…

The following people I also consider my family.

Susan Miller, lives in CA. We met about 10 years ago, and while we don’t talk very often on the phone, and I can only afford to visit her once a year, when I DO visit her, It’s like I’ve never left. I can’t explain it. I simply feel like she’s part of my family…

Alla Denisenko. Again, it’s very hard to explain why I feel about her the way I do. I just do. Maybe it has to do with the fact that her son Misha is one of my closest friends. Or maybe we’re friends because of her, who knows…
