Jim and Katy's Wedding Reception

Date: November 30, 2006

I joked to Jim that his wedding invitation was probably the most informal one I ever received, for it came:
  • in the form or E-mail
  • only specified the time & venue but no date

Apparently, this is the 5th official meal Jim and Katy had for their wedding celebrations. They got married on October 29 in Taiwan. The 5 meals are for: Engagement in Taipei, Wedding Banquet, Reception in L.A., Registration in Vancouver, Reception in Vancouver.

Mayfair Lakes Golf & Country Club
Then there came the snowstorm of the decade. I even told Jim not to expect me to show up. Luckily, I found a designated driver to carpool with, in a car with navigation system.

The country club is in Richmond near the farmland. All we saw was fog and snow covered fields. Suddenly the navigation machine said, "You are at your destination" repeatedly. With the dense fog, the 4 of us had the same doubtful mind. As we continued riding on the narrow road, it felt like we were in the forest, dark and cold in the night, heehee.

Each piece of cake is individually made. The shell was made with white chocolate and their initials "J & K" were embossed.

Congratulations to

Jim & Katy for their

Double Happiness!

This reception was like a warm cozy gathering in winter. Most of the time we were watching video taken in Taiwan and chatting. The buffet food was nice too, particularly the hors d'oeuvres. It was certainly very worthy for me even after a tiring day at work.

But I didn't see this slideshow at the reception however: Jim & Katy's Story

I was going to take photographs outdoor, but the fog was too dense creating a film of water vapour ... flash didn't work well... I did take a picture of the cabin of my ride. Thanks to our designated driver who led us into and out of inches of snow!

I didn't take that many photographs overall ... More Photographs
