Singapore

In the plane from Madras, India to Singapore I fell asleep. I needed to stay 12 hrs in Singapore before taking off again to Brisbane, Australia. I was bored in the airport. I was beginning to have the idea to go out of the Singapore City for awhile. I did. I went out to see what Singapore looks like. I ended up in a Singapore department store. It was such a beautiful country and clean. Everyone had their own cell phone. So I was doing some window shopping.. and I stopped in the shop to ask how much a watch cost and the woman looked at me from head to toe and said "You can't afford that ! That is so expensive!." I just looked at her and walked away. I went to a rest room and looked at myself. How did I look? I looked fine.

So I decided to go back again to the airport and wait for my flight to Australia. I rode by taxi, this time going to the airport. The taxi driver was an Indian guy. When I was in the airport I realized my bill money was only 5 bucks. I had a traveler's check. I was so frightened. I hoped I was not going to the jail. So I talked to the driver about the bill I had. At first he was mad and then I said I will give you a travel check or you can take me to the nearest bank here, but he refused. I was beginning to get very frightened, but I managed it out. He said it was okay.

Inside the airport I had 4 hours more to wait. I was really sleepy. Then a man came to talk to me and asked where I was going. I said Australia. It happened that he was going to Australia too, but he was going to Sidney. And I was going to Brisbane. We talked and talked. He said he was a doctor and had lots of grandchildren. We had fun talking. And finally came the time of my flight. I guess I wasn't paying attention about my flight number and my gate. The announcer said flight to Brisbane, Australia in F36 gate. And I was at A35. It was really scary, I didn't want to miss my flight. So I took off my boots and ran like the wind. I was late, the door was closed already but I begged the lady with my tears. I was only late for just like 50 seconds. I held her hand and said please let me in... she called them and said I could go. And I was really happy, but scared too. Its really unforgettable travel. (smile) In the plane I was thinking of my fiancé Alan. I wrote him a letter and dreamt of him on the plane. God, how I missed him so much, until I didn't really notice I arrived in Brisbane Australia.....
