When I am lonely in the desert places and I mistake illusions as the source to quench my thirst
My heart has learned to not give in and grumble
But to set my hope on You.
I have traveled a long way, along roads now stained with blood and tears
And I have much distance yet to tread,
But I have never once yet stumbled down to depths beyond Your reach.
Father, at times I have trouble still persevering
Can I have the patience I am meant to in midst of all my suff'ring?
When my heart trembles to turn back, and the rain seems countless miles away,
I will bow my head and pray.
I'll continue on in patient perseverence
For I know that the Lord's coming will be near.
My God pours out mercy and compassion on His children,
One day He will mend my battle wounds.

James 5:7-11 inspired me to write this. God's Word is so awesome!!
