[Day, interior of a rather nice dining room. MOTHER is bringing in a tea set on a tray to her HUSBAND and 20-something SON sitting at the table talking. The tray also has the son's framed, black and white, High School photo on it.]

SON
Oh, Dad ...

FATHER
Relax, I don't mind doing your income tax. It's the only time your mother and me get to see you. How much money did you make last year?

SON
Four thousand dollars?

FATHER
Four thousand! How do you afford a bachelor apartment in the city?

SON
We manage.

MOTHER
[is seated by now] We manage?

[SON is looking down, wistfully cherishing his motorcycle helmet.]

FATHER
And how much did we manage to pay for that bicycle outside?

SON
No, it's a motorcycle and it was only twenty-three hundred.

FATHER
23 hu ... it must be air-conditioned.

MOTHER
We manage.

[During narration, night interior of FATHER and MOTHER seated in bed talking (father is looking up from reading his book).]

NARRATOR
Some things even your parents don't have to know. The Accountant has specially trained people to do your income tax, quickly and confidentially. Our charges start at $5 and average under $12.50. Don't let an amateur do The Accountant's job.

[Black screen with superimposed "The Accountant" logo and text, "The income tax people," under it, is up -- it remains to end.]

FATHER
Four thousand dollars. You know what I was making when I was his age.

MOTHER
Fifteen hundred dollars.

FATHER
Fifteen hundred dollars ...
