Background for Lost and Found Saga

WARNING CONTAINS SPOILERS!!! Don't read this if you want to be surprised!!!

Equipment

Here is equipment listed used in the fan fiction story. Some of it is my own interpretation, and others are my interpretation of cannon pieces of equipment that appear in Dragon Ball Z and GT.

AE Suit

Because he knows Bulma is a large fan of British SF including the Tomorrow People, Vegeta chose this nickname for the suits he issued onboard the Red Ribbon ship. They are capable of stretching to fit the wearer, and contain special insulation to protect against temperature extremes. Unfortunately they are not resistant to being torn or punctured by eager mobs. Vegeta wears an AE suit under his armor.

Battle Thruster

Yamucha and the Brigands of Loyola use converted battle thrusters to run raids and contraband in among the planetary systems controlled by Bok Choi. They are typically sub orbital craft, which can be adapted with hyper engines for short jaunts between systems.

Bok Choi Armor

The armor worn by Bok Choi's soldiers follows the rank structure of Freiza's forces. The designs are identical except for the color of the Elite (red) and Second Class officers (tan).

Black is footsoldiers like Radditz Saiyan Third class. The shoulder guards are brown, with groin guard and hip guards. Underneath is worn a tight sleevless/legless bodysuit (AE). Typically a standard issue Scouter is also included with wristguards and boots. Think of Radditz's armor for this one.

Brown denotes Second Class officers. The shoulder guards, groin guards are brown, but the bodysuit worn underneath is tan. No hipguards exist, but a utility belt and scouter are worn. A rank insignia is worn on the upper left arm. Krillen's armor is this scheme, as well as Marrow's. A good visual guide is what the Ginyuu force would wear.

Red denotes Elite officers. The chestpiece includes epaulettes overtop an armored vest. Boots are matching red, along with gauntlets or gloves. Typically Commanders and Nobles wear an ankle length cape that fits just under the epaulettes. Under the armor is worn a tight fitting one size fits all AE suit which is scarlet in color. Most elite wear more extensive scouters.

White is reserved for the Lords, such as Bok Choi or Pepperjack. The vest is armored, with no shoulder pads, and a long cape is pinned around the neck. Armored gauntlets and high boots cover the legs to the knee. Most have scouters incorporating a red or pink lens.

Bulma's Capsules

Where would a girl be wihtout her Capsules? Or where would the Prince of All Saiyans be without a few of his own hidden strategically for such a mission? Because he is a 'guest' of the Briefs he makes good use of the technology at hand despite Bulma's reservations, and to her frustrations. As in the cannon show and other fanfictions, Bulma uses quite a few of them in Lost and Found. Some of them include:

Capsule Hut, Refrigerator/Food storage, Television/entertainment set, Tools/Electronics spares, Empty storage capsules (Vegeta uses these to transport his GR, the Saiyan Pod, and Red Ribbon prototype craft in the story among other things.)

Capsule Corps Jacket

During the latter part of the story, Bulma wears a jacket identical in design to the one worn by Future Trunks. Does she wear it because she knows Vegeta hates it, or is it just because it's comfortable? Two patches bear the logo, sewn to either shoulder, and on the back. It is dark blue in color, and terminates just above the waist. It turns out that it's a standard gift item for employees who have completed five years of service to the company, or family members. Needless to say, when she wears it, Vegeta gets a nasty shock and reminder of the youth. Little does he know…

Cosmetocamoflaguer belt

One of Bulma's inventions, this holographic projector can create the illusion of any suit of clothes the wearer wishes. All they have to do is program the proper images by a twist of the buckle. The limit is the memory buffer of the device. Unfortunately its power is limited to only the wearer, and can malfunction if torn off the wearer.

Display Tank

Used in Mr. Zocolotto's Emporium, these transparent pink and yellow cylinders shield dancers and pleasure servants from the general populace during performances. They are also used to show prizefighters that engage in cage matches for bets. The material is shatterproof and resistant to most ki blasts.

GT or GR

The infamous Capsule 3, which Vegeta uses to train, appears briefly in this fanfiction story (as it does in most B/V get togethers!). He has Bulma install it onboard the Red Ribbon craft so he can continue to train while on his mission. She disables the engines and propulsion systems and routs the voice commands to respond to him directly.

Graviton Satellites

One of Dr. Brief's inventions manufactured by Capsule Corps to replace the moon that Piccolo blew up. They project a gravity field that regulates the earth's tides.

Moonbeam Attachments

Vegeta's contribution to the Capsule Corps technological line involves these attachments to be placed on Dr. Brief's Graviton Satellites. Special mirrors trap sunlight and beam it onto local cities of choice to simulate moonlight. Primarily it was used for ensuring the natural cycles of wildlife to operate smoothly. If desired, the beam can cast a holographic image that simulates a multiphase moon. Because of this, Vegeta has gained a small cash flow from the residual patents.

Red Ribbon Space ship

Vegeta discovers this duplicate of a Capsule Corps ship that incorporates Saiyan propulsion. Unlike a Saiyan space pod it has full living quarters. Three or four decks are described: Flight deck, similar in design to Capsule 3's interior. Residential deck which includes a galley and sitting room area, sleeping quarters, which includes three bedrooms with bunks and individual water closets. The middle deck houses two cargo bays and a miniship hangar. Capsule 3, aka Vegeta's GR, is set up in the miniship hangar, while Yamucha and Krillen use the other bay for training.

Fortunately it also possesses the same voice command technology and suspension gas system shipwide. Vegeta programs it to respond in Saiyan tongue only, but unwittingly forgets to program it back. Bulma helps him to get the ship working so he can retrieve the race bank. Before he leaves, he encapsulates his GR and takes it with him when he goes to Archalisei with Bulma.

Saiyan Moonbeam simulator

Bulma uses a television and a Saiyan scouter to duplicate the precise wavelengths of the full moon for Vegeta in order to transform into Oorzu form. This is to help Vegeta conserve precious ki that would go into producing the ball of light he would use normally. Bulma eventually uses the same technology to discover Bruts waves in GT.

Saiyan Race Bank

Much like in the British SF show Dr. Who, and other SF lore, in this story there is the existence of a genetic repository revealed. Two small cylinders made of the same metal as a Saiyan space pod contain samples of prime DNA for Third Class and Elite warriors. Also encoded in the DNA sequences is the sum history of the Saiyan race. Vegeta himself contains the 'prime genes' of the Royal Family, which were NOT stored in the Banks. It was the duty of each Prince to keep the existence of this repository secret in the event the Saiyan race was to reach extinction. Somehow Bardok knew of its existence and programmed the last known location of it into the spacepod that bore Goku to earth.

Saiyan Historical Microcircuits

Included in most Saiyan baby space pods are tapes of Saiyan history. During the long voyages, the tapes are played into the minds of the child warriors to program them for their destination to purge the planet of choice. Vegeta retrieves these from the Red Ribbon base where he finds the prototype craft built based on Saiyan pod specs.

Saiyan History Bank

Included with the Race banks are microdiscs containing the sum total history of Vejitasei from the time the Saiyans conquered the Tuffles to just before the world was destroyed. All the information is telepathically encoded in the discs so that the retriever can simply place their hands upon the discs and absorb it directly inside their minds. Only the Royal Family of Vejetasei knows how to retrieve the information (Which would be the King, royal Lifemate, and Prince). Included are little known events kept secret from the general Saiyan Third class and Elites.

Saiyan Space Pod

Basically the same as in the cannon series DBZ. Vegeta obtains this craft from Tangelo on Orchydsei and uses it to transport himself and Bulma to Archalisei, and then back to Earth. It is one of the elite craft; identical in design to the one he first used to reach Earth. Vegeta considers it a 'Rolls Royce' among spaceships and retains it proudly should he wish to 'leave the miserable mud ball' anytime soon. Only Bulma knows of its existence. Because it has no GR, Vegeta uses a Capsule 4 ship instead to train as in the series for the Androids arrival.

Sky Sled

A small transport unit consisting of a flat hovercraft base with raised sides. Typically five or six soldiers in a squad ride on them. Weaponry includes white noise cannons, and heat seeker or ki seeker missiles, and a forward mounted disintegration cannon capable of punching holes through standard issue Bok Choi armor. Most footsoldiers use this method of transport. Civilian modifications also use these propulsion systems.

Vegeta's armor

Bulma makes the armor Vegeta wears in this story. However it's NOT in the style of the one she presents to Trunks and the others on Kame's lookout during the Cell Saga. Rather in this story it's a replica of the armor he wore on Namek which he'd taken from Freiza's ship. Later on in the story she presents him with new armor that is identical in design to what she gives him in the actual cannon series. In this fanfiction, Vegeta adds a utility belt for carrying money and other supplies, and a large royal blue cape that fastens around the neck.
