Tenchi Muyo! Ryo-ohki

Jurai's Royal Court on Earth

Mihoshi Kuramitsu

Mihoshi is a First Class Detective in the Galaxy Police. Not much is known about her family background except that her grandfather is Grand Marshall of the Galaxy Police.

In the OAV series Mihoshi is a Galaxy Police officer assigned to patrol the Sol System of which Earth is a part of. She then receives word from Galaxy Police headquarters that Kagato, a class I criminal who is known as the Destroyer of Artifacts, was last known to be heading towards the Sol System, and she is ordered to locate his position and report back. However, Mihoshi takes it upon herself to apprehend Kagato. She then sets off in her ship to find Kagato.

Her search leads her to Earth, but due to a "side effect" of yet another fight between Aeka and Ryouko, a subspace hole is opened, and her ship is pulled inside. She appears on the other side of the hole, right above the hot spring where Tenchi, Aeka, and Ryouko were battling a creature Ryouko summoned but could not control. The creature gets pulled into the subspace hole (Tenchi almost does as well, and in the process he accidently "rescues" Mihoshi). Without a ship, Mihoshi accepts Tenchi's offer to stay with the girls and him at his house.

Kagato eventually arrives on Earth. He is looking for Ryouko, whom he claims belongs to him, as well as Tenchi's sword which he believes holds the ultimate power in the universe. He kidnaps Ryouko but fails to get the sword since only people that the sword recognizes are able to handle it. Mihoshi accompanies Tenchi and Aeka in the Ryo-ohki/Ryu-oh, the combination of Aeka's and Ryouko's ships, to rescue Ryouko from Kagato's ship, the Souja. In the ensuing battle Tenchi is believed killed, and Ryouko, who escaped from Kagato's prison, Aeka, and Mihoshi board the Souja to find Kagato and make him pay for Tenchi's apparent death. As Ryouko and Aeka head off to face Kagato, Mihoshi accidently stumbles into a parallel dimension within the Souja and discovers and rescues Washu, Kagato's former teacher who created Ryouko, Ryo-ohki, and the Souja. However, they can not leave the parallel universe until Kagato is destroyed. Ryouko and Aeka were not able to defeat Kagato, but then Tenchi, who had been rescued by Tsunami, arrives and defeats Kagato. With this event, Tenchi's "family" is now complete as Aeka, Ryouko, Sasami, Washu, and Mihoshi return to Earth and take up residence in Tenchi's home to continue their antics and adventures.

Although, Mihoshi is a Detective First Class in the Galaxy Police, how she made it that far baffles many people. The reason is that Mihoshi is extremely clumsy and very slow to comprehend things when the facts are staring her in the face. There are some that say that her grandfather, the Galaxy Police Grand Marshall, had some influence. However, what some do not know is that Mihoshi's successes are due largely to luck! Mihoshi seems to be the luckiest person in the known Tenchi universe, and she always seems to come out on top in situations that would have defeated even the greatest of people. She also has a her disposal some heavy duty Galaxy Police equipment, including a Galaxy Police cruiser under her command, an energy pistol, and a cube that resembles a Rubix cube that can perform many functions depending on how it is twisted.

Mihoshi gets along well with everyone in the Tenchi household, probably due to her childlike nature. She does constantly try to keep Aeka and Ryouko's arguments to a minimum (with very little success). She seems to be in love with Tenchi, though it doesn't seem as serious as Aeka'a and Ryouko's feelings toward Tenchi. Mihoshi can get very emotional, and she tends to cry a lot. She loves spending her time watching TV and reading Tenchi's father's manga. Mihoshi did have a partner by the name of Kiyone, but as of now no one knows what has become of her. Although Mihoshi can be a pain at times, overall she's a lucky addition to the Tenchi "family".
