Photos:  Bahamas to Annapolis

Fireworks at West End, Grand Bahama on July Fourth.
Just out into the Gulf Stream, the GPS showed the power of the current...While I'd say Circe was only sailing along at about four knots, the GPS showed 7.9 - four knots of current, at the axis!
One of the many freighters heading south, as it approaches...
...and then only two or three minutes later as it passes...this is what I'd call a close call!
When the wind dropped to almost nothing, I finally got a chance to set the spinnaker.  This is the first time it had been flown in four years of sailing Circe!
Approaching Cape Hatteras, the seas were very squirrelly, mostly flat, with surges of swells and gusts of wind.  Circe would surf up and down the swells, creating huge bow wakes, which a pod of about ten dolphins were riding and playing all around the boat.
Circe anchored off the Naval Academy in Annapolis - she's the one just above the left side of the bench.  Not the big one, the smaller one!
