Jake begins to believe Tom's story about Nurse Fletcher, but Vicky appears to take Fletcher's side. She's able to get Fletcher to slip up and admit a detail about Emily's kidnapping. Tom leaps on the detail and gets Fletcher to reveal the truth. Fletcher takes Tom and Jake to the cell where Emily was held hostage. The cops arrive in the form of Margo, who starts out skeptical but then threatens to charge Fletcher as an accessory to murder if she doesn't reveal who hired her to take care of Emily. Reid arrives at the institution to give Emily a court-ordered psychological evaluation. She pretends she's insane, but Reid proclaims otherwise and convinces the hospital that she's shamming. The police take her away in handcuffs.

July 2

Reid arrives at the police station as Margo and Tom interrogate Nurse Fletcher. She can't identify a photo of David Stenbeck, much to Reid's relief, but does admit that Emily was a kidnap victim. Tom rushes off to Emily's sentencing hearing. Margo arrives and to everyone's surprise, corroborates Tom's insistence that Emily has been wrongfully convicted. The judge doesn't care, and sentences Emily to twenty years to life. Tom assures Emily that this isn't over.

Eddie and Margo read Cass's file on Deena, but (since Georgia took the evidence) can't find Eddie's father's name. Eddie does learn that his father refused to accept paternity and ignored all attempts at contact.

July 9

Lily, Holden and Margo visit the mental institution to visit Rita, but doctors claim there's no one there by that name. Dr. Price agrees to let them check the roster for all patients fitting Rita's description. Meanwhile, Rita manages to disable a nurse and switch clothing with her, sneaking out. But she runs right into Reid. Later, Reid pulls a sheet over Rita's unconscious body, which lies on a gurney.

July 12

Reid sneaks Rita out of the hospital right under Margo's nose. Lily, Holden and Margo try to find Rita, and determine that she's the same "Ms. Stevens" who drugged a nurse and escaped the psychiatric hospital.

When Katie and Chris are arrested for trespassing, Margo bails out her sister--but Bob decides to let Chris spend the night in jail.

Alec confides in Margo about his Eddie problems. Margo asks Molly why she was at the psychiatric hospital the other day, and accuses her of covering up for someone...possibly David Stenbeck.

Tom and Margo are not on, but Hal and Adam talk about the upcoming wedding, and discuss moving in with Barbara and her kids. Hal asks Adam to be his best man, and his son happily agrees. Barbara talks with Adam about his outfit for the event. She and Hal plan living arrangements for their blended family including Adam and Jennifer.

July 20

Thanks to Tom's new evidence, Emily's conviction is overturned and she's released. Margo questions Emily about the man in the photograph of Melinda, but Tom asks Margo to back off and let Emily enjoy her first day of freedom. Margo defends herself against Tom's anger. Later, Adam snubs Tom when he sees him with the new baby, Daniel. Though a dejected Tom declines Emily's invitation to celebrate her homecoming, he shows up at her door.

July 21

Emily's thrilled that Tom has visited her, and admits that she's lonely and afraid. Tom offers to stay a while to keep her company. They talk about Danny's favorite lullaby, and bond over their child. Tom reveals how much he misses Adam and Casey. Later, a weary Tom falls asleep, and Emily gently wakes him to offer her guestroom. He accepts.

Susan is surprised to see that Tom has spent the night at Emily's house, and warns Emily against manipulating Tom again. She says Emily deserves more than a man who loves her only because of a baby. Emily takes Susan's advice and encourages Tom to go home. Later, Tom runs into Adam, who intentionally hurts Tom's feelings by snubbing him. Needing a friend, Tom returns to a thrilled Emily. Adam plans a surprise bachelor's party for Hal, but Hal insists on taking him to the movies instead. When Hal overhears Adam's coldness to Tom, he gently reproaches Adam and reminds him that Adam, like Daniel, is a product of an adulterous relationship. Meanwhile, Margo vents with John about Andy and Molly's impending marriage, but John guesses that her bitterness is really about her situation with Tom. Margo and Holden grill Molly about her trip to Mackinac Island, but Molly truthfully tells them she didn't learn anything about the Snyder baby. Later, Andy tells Holden and Margo about his plan to track down the photographer of the torn photo with Melinda and the mystery man.

July 28

Tom and Margo are not on, but Adam arrives and tries to enlist Lisa's help in getting Hal and Barbara to the surprise party. Lisa talks Barbara into bringing Hal and the whole family to the Mona Lisa tonight. Barbara agrees, and tells Adam of Jennifer's impending arrival from camp. Later, when Jennifer does arrive, Barbara is stunned by her daughter's transformation into a sophisticated teenager.

July 29

Tom and Margo are not on, but as Jennifer tries on her bridesmaid gown, Barbara reveals that Adam is moving in with them. Jennifer isn't pleased. Similarly, Hal tells Adam that Jennifer will be living with them, and Adam's not pleased either. The two teens encounter each other, playing cat-and-mouse while revealing that they don't want to share space with a stepsibling. Jennifer warns Adam not to make waves, wanting this wedding to come off without a hitch. Adam sees that Jennifer is definitely Barbara's daughter.

July 30

Everyone prepares for Hal and Barbara's surprise engagement party. Hal and Barbara arrive and are thrilled by the surprise party, especially because Adam helped set it up. However, Jennifer isn't happy, unprepared for a formal affair. Adam tells her to calm down. He toasts his new family. Carly decides to come clean about Parker's paternity, but her efforts to talk with Jack are interrupted by Margo. Margo and Jack perform a song-and-dance number in honor of Hal.
