At court, Margo and Tom wonder if John is prepared to raise a baby on his own. John is determined, and then concerned when Andy doesn't show up. Later, the courtroom is rocked when Andy and Denise arrive, and Denise announces herself as "Mrs. Andy Dixon."

John can't believe that Denise and Andy got married and blasts Andy. The judge won't tolerate a marriage of convenience, but Denise insists they were married so that Hope could be raised in a two-parent home. Andy makes a statement about his commitment to the marriage and being Hope's father. John then makes his case to be Hope's custodial parent and provide a stable home for her. The judge rules in Andy and Denise's favor with the stipulation that they prove this is a real marriage. John confronts Andy, who defends his decision. Kim blames John for forcing Andy's hand and pushing him into the marriage. Tom and Margo are mostly bystanders as all of this plays out.
