This page is for those players old and new, who are considering playing The Crab in the L5R CCG.

Here I put my choice personality of the moment and put him in the spotlight. Included are info about that particular Crab Personality, the usual combos for it, what works and what doesn't. I'd like to think this would help the newbies to understand The Crab a little better, how to think and make war as the Crab does. Without further ado, here is the first Crab Clan Personality I would like to discuss. Enter ...

Hiruma Kage
Crab Clan Samurai
2F 2C
RH0 G 5 PH 2

Kage gains +4C while dueling a Shadowlands personality.

His was the first family to fall to the Shadowlands, and even if it means his death, it shall be the last

What works : Kage + Crystal Katana:Get a load of this guy, a potential 10C!!! Junzo better hide his skinny butt.
The moves : Kage + Iajutsu Challenge/Duel or For The Empire: Shadowlands Personalities= Squished personalitites! If there's none around, make some! Combos like Stale Wind + any shugenja will help.
His Thoughts: (Note: I know he said something cool...I'm still looking for it...)

Yasuki Taka
Crab Clan Wily Trader
0F 1C
RH0 G 3 PH 0

Open: Bow Wily Trader and anyone of your gold
producing holdings to straighten any holding in play.

Wily Trader is worth 1 Koku

What works : Taka + Small Farm: To unbow holdings like Diamond Mines, Sanctified Temples, Bushi Dojo, etc.
The moves : Taka + Way of Deception: Your opponent has more personalities and is attacking, don't worry every Crab personality is born a defender! Send Taka to defend one of your provinces for Block Supply Lines or Entrapping terrain, and if the going gets tough decieve them! 0F 2C Taka turns out to be an 8F 8C Hida no Oni!
His Thoughts: "An ally with wings is likely to take flight at the first sign of storms"
"Supplies are running short, my Lord. If an exterior force chose to invade now we would certainly be put to the test."
