WARRIORS' SACRIFICE: The Day's End

Only that
Day dawns to
Which we are awake.

Rowen awoke to the sounds of Kento and Cye fighting over breakfast. Kento, of course, wanted to eat breakfast right away, even though it wasn't completely cooked. Rowen lifted himself up on his elbow, glancing over at the digital alarm clock in the corner. He scowled, and flopped back on the bed. Why can't they wait until a reasonable hour to start fighting?! he thought as he tried to fall back asleep. He soon gave up, finding his efforts futile. He glanced over at Sage's bed, in hopes that for once he decided to sleep in. No such luck. In fact, Sage's bed was a complete bomb zone for once....The blankets had mostly fallen to the ground and the pillows were scattered everywhere. This was strange since Sage was a bit of a neat freak, he always made his bed before going downstairs (at the crack of dawn..). ALWAYS. Rowen shrugged off a few ideas of worry and got up.

Meanwhile, downstairs....
" O WAY KENTO!! Get out, get out, GET OUT!!! " Cye yelled, waving around the batter covered spatula menacingly.
"C'mon Cye, just a little taste..." Kento said, drooling at the sight of the stack of Cye's special deluxe pancakes. He'd had to multiply the ingredients by ten the first time he'd made them and there still hadn't been enough to fill everyone up.Of course the fact that Kento and Yulie each ate for four didn't help....
"No way Kento! You'll have to wait like the others!" Cye retorted, waving around the spatula. He stopped and sniffed around, twirling around and running to the stove as the smell of burning pancakes began to fill the air. "Oh no! Now look what you made me d--AAAH! " Cye grabbed his hand as he slumped to the floor. Kento ran to his friend, worried and just a bit curious as to what was wrong.
"Cye! You okay?!" Kento asked as he sat down near his friend.
"I'm fine...just burnt my hand a bit...." he said through gritted teeth. He got up and walked over to the sink as Kento watched. Carefully putting on the water and letting his hand under it. By now everyone else had arrived, all carrying the same worried look.Cye turned, as if just then noticing their presence.
"Don't worry! I'm fine! It's just a little burn....." Cye said, waving his hand. "At least I won't have to put up with Kento's whining anymore!" he continued, making his way to the burnt pancakes as the others gave each other questioning looks.
Five minutes later their questions were answered as Cye laid a plate of black pancakes in front of Kento.
" I can't eat this!!!" Kento howled, staring at the plate. "It's non-edible!" Kento cried, trying to escape. He would've too, if it wasn't for Ryo and White Blaze.
"So what are you saying? Would you rather eat Rowen's cooking?" Cye asked, and his voice had a hint of both threatening and at the same time sarcastic.
"I heard that." They turned around to see Rowen leaning against the stair's banister, looking down from upstairs, a smirk on his face.
"Oh, um, hi Rowen....what're you doing up?" Cye asked, blushing.
"Well, you two are loud enough to wake the dead! Can't you two wait until I wake up to start fighting?" Rowen asked, sighing.
"WUNMNMP...*gulp* wait till you get up? and when will that be...in a few centuries?" Kento said, grabbing another bite of the pancakes.
"I thought you said those were inedible." Cye pointed out, watching his friend gulp down bite after bite.
"Once you get past the charcoal, they really aren't that bad!" Kento said, grinning as syrup dribbled down his chin.
"Could you close your mouth? It's not the best sight in the world you know..." Ryo said, turning away from Kento's eating.
"Hey! whats that suppo--"
"Sorry to interrupt, but have you guys seen Sage?" Rowen asked, looking around the room.
"Nope."
"Sorry."
"Isn't he still asleep?" Cye asked, looking a little bewildered."I was up early this morning and everything was locked. He has to be in the house somewhere...."
"Actually--" Rowen answered, "--I'm a little worried....his bed was a complete wreck and there was a stain on--" Rowen stopped himself, he didn't remember seeing a stain....
He ran upstairs, quickly followed by the others. He threw open the door to the room he shared with Sage and went over to the bed.He stopped dead in his tracks. Cye was second in the room and followed Rowen over to Sage's bed. He stopped, horrified at the sight before him. In the middle of Sage's bed was a large deep red stain.

"Are you sure this is the guy we;ve been looking for?" the young man asked.
"Yes...why?" the girl turned to face him, brushing wisps off black hair from her face.
" I don't know, it's just...he seems so weak and small for our masters to fear him so much." the young man answered.
"I saw the proof, it's him alright."she answered, returning her gaze to the limp body.
"But why do they want him so? and why do they want to--"
"Asking so many questions will get you killed."the two of them turned to see another young man enter the room, his long green hair flowing loosely." Or do you wish the same fate as Koran?"
"It's not that...I'm just curious as to what kind of power he wields to fear our masters so..."
"It is not our duty to ask questions, only to serve their will." the man answered. "Come, our masters call."

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

"So the Warlords have returned..."
"Pretty stupid of them if ya ask me! We'll just have to kick their butts back t' the Dynasty!"Jo yelled cheerfully, excited about the fight that was to come.
"But why now...." the young man continued. "They've been silent since the last battle..."
"Probably plotting their next move." Shiro answered. His jet black hair fell loosely around his shoulders and over his eyes. It was unusual for him to wear his hair like that, it was usually pulled into a tight ponytail. Looking at him made the young man remember Ryo, the first Ronin Warrior he he'd ever met.
"That doesn't make sense...if they'd been planning to attack us they would have done it awhile ago..." Kei said in a quiet english accent.
"Maybe they wanna catch us off guard." Shiro shrugged, trying to think of a better reason.
"No...it's something other then that..." They turned to look at Taro. It was the first thing he'd said all night. "Krystal...what are they planning?" he looked straight at the girl, as if already knowing the answer, just wishing her to voice it.
" I..I.." She stuttered, still shaken from her dream. She looked up as Arren put his hands on her shoulders. He stared down at the young girl with loving eyes.
"C'mon little sis'. It's alright if you're afraid of it, but we have to know what's going on." he said. They weren't really brother and sister, but there was an unknown relation between the two of them. They'd always thought of each other as bro and sis, and called and acted that way to one another.
"Th...the warlords have gone through time...." She began in a shaky voice, "...to kill the last line of Ronin Warriors."
"But what will that do?!" Jo yelled, slamming his fists on the table.
"If they kill them in the time that I saw, we...and everything in this future will cease to exist." she stated.
"Is that possible?" Kei asked, looking at Krystal.
"Yes...but not without calling upon one of the most energy taxing spells in existence...and I don't think any of them have the power to call upon that amount of energy..." Taro answered.
"So, how do we stop them?" Shiro said, looking down at the table.
"We do the impossible....and go back in time to stop them." The young man stated, getting up."Prepare yourselves, Ronin Warriors...we leave at dawn."

Sage awoke in total darkness, feeling a stinging pain in his abdomen. He looked around, trying to find out where he was. There was a strange heat coming down on him, though it as black as night. He suddenly felt a familiar presence...that of someone long dead. He turned quickly, causing a sharp pain in to be felt in his stomach.
"Hmmp. Still so impatient....you haven't changed in the slightest. What's the matter Sage? I thought you liked the sun...why do you look so cold?" the man said, chuckling.
Sage began to feel himself tremble as the words began to set in. It wasn't night outside, it was daylight. It was his eyes that refused to see the light that created the dark. This can't be happening... he thought.
"Oh but it is, what's the matter? Can't you see? Poor Sagie...do you want your big brother to make it all better?" The man laughed.
"...this can't be happening..." Sage whispered. "...I can't be blind....y..you can't be here..."
"Don't you just love modern magic little bro?" the man continued to laugh as Sage stared into the darkness of his own eyes.
