Studio Ghibli is a team of animators mainly headed by Hayao Miyazaki. Another well known director is Takahata Isao. However, with the release of "Mononoke Hime" (see picture to right), Miyazaki-san's latest and last anime, Miyazaki-san is somewhat retired from Studio Ghibli. Takahata-san has taken over his resposiblities. Another change is the change of copyrights of certain Studio Ghibli's animes to Walt Disney. The music themes of the animes are really very good. They are mainly made up of synthesizer music. (i am not sure about this) But the music blends in very well with the anime as though the music can convey the atmosphere and feelings of the anime. My favourites are from "Mimi o Sumasabe", "Laputa" and "Omohide Poro Poro". Another good score is from "Porco Rosso" (i've not seen the anime yet though)
