Princess Serenity silently asked entering her mother's royal chambers quietly. "Yes, my child. Please sit down." Queen Serenity gestured toward an empty cushioned chair by the fireplace. Serenity sat down gracefully, her royal gown flowing like a sea of white silk. She was an elegant young lady, as princess and the only heir to the throne of the Moon Kingdom, she was the most precious thing in the world to her mother. Queen Serenity loved her dearly, guiding her step by step to the day when she would resign and let the younger generations take over. Princess Serenity was a caring, beautiful princess, who is also her friends' loyal companion. The princess had four protectors, each from their represented planets: Mercury, Mars, Jupiter, and Venus. Ami, Rei, Makoto and Minako were princesses from their own planets and Serenity's guardians. She was very fond of her court, these five were like best friends, almost sisters, in the Royal Palace of the Moon. Princess Serenity was indeed very beautiful. Her sky-blue sapphire eyes so pure and shining, they contained the world's innocence and trust; her skin the color of natural ivory, so smooth and perfect; her hair the brightest blond, so rich and thick that they formed a waterfall of gold. Serenity's dress was made of pure and expansive white silk, gold strands stitched neatly here and there. Her blond hair was done with the royal hair style with a solid golden crown in between her two "meat-balls". Two elegant pearl clips clamped tightly on her head to help hold up several loose tendrils, and two matching pearl earrings swung gracefully with every movement she made. Princess Serenity sat there peacefully, waiting for her mother to continue. "You may have heard form your court, that the royal family of Earth is visiting us." Queen Serenity narrated calmly, her face placid yet motherly. "The King and Queen of Earth as well as the new liaison to the Moon Kingdom, Mamoru Endymion, a very charming young man. They will be landing here tomorrow evening. I have planned to hold a ball as a welcome celebration. I wish to have you as Captain Endymion's escort and guide." "Yes mother. Is Endymion here to replace his father's old post?" Princess Serenity smiled, remembered that Endymion's father was the former liaison to the Moon Kingdom. "Yes, of course. He was appointed to that position not too long ago, since his father is now the commander of the Earth Defense Forces." Serenity smiled again happily, think about the party tomorrow evening. Any girl her age loved to attend parties and balls, tomorrow was going to be extra fun. Queen Serenity continued, "You and your court will be free from training during our guests' stay. All of your guardians should dress in their royal gown, that includes you, my dear." "Yes mother," Princess Serenity replied as she listened carefully, then exited after her mother gestured so. She walked out of the large bedroom chamber smiling, looking forward to the pleasurable and joyful evening... ********************************************************************************* "So here you are Serenity." Princess Makoto of Jupiter leaned against a white marble column next to her princess. "Evening, Makoto. How are you doing?" Princess Serenity smiled brightly to the Princess of Jupiter. "Me? As fine as ever. So you're looking forward for the arrival of the royal family from Earth right?" "Yeah...Look at Earth, Makoto. It's so beautiful...I sometimes wonder what life is like on Earth. Don't you love that planet? White clouds, blue water, and brown solid earth. Do you know what moon looks like to them?" Serenity whispered dreamily. "Sorry I don't know princess. I only watched Jupiter from here. It's so mysterious and grand." Makoto looked at Jupiter wistfully, her home planet. "So the whole court of Earth is coming?" Makoto asked. "Yeah, mother told me so. Plus the Prince's four commanders. We will be having a lot of company." "Ami, Rei and Minako are all excited about that. Another ball to spice up our life. It's pretty late now, I guess I will see you tomorrow, Princess," Makoto bid her friend a good night and retreated towards her own chambers. "Good night, Makoto." Serenity still stood dazed, gazing at the beautiful planet of Earth, memorizing the exquisite image it made in the dark navy sky. Her figure was bathed in pale silver lights, her face upturned towards the sky, her blue pupil full of wonder and hope. The whole Palace of the Moon looked so beautiful, especially on a night like this. Silhouetted hallways, white marble floor, graceful white columns and that peaceful Sea of Serenity. Millions of stars winked quietly above, the entire palace stood elegantly in it's whole glory as if it were in a glamorous legend. Sometimes even Serenity didn't know why, but her heart felt so attracted to that beautiful planet everyone called Earth. Almost as if she were waiting for something... ********************************************************************************* "A penny of your thoughts, my lord," Malachite leaned against the iron railing of the ship beside Endymion. They were now on their way to the Moon sailing smoothly within calm night, it was so peaceful and serene. Prince Endymion looked so dashing and handsome in his black nightcap. His jet black hair waved so naturally in the cool breeze of night, so naturally as if they were wind blown. His blue eyes so deep and serene, that any other being couldn't estimate what he was thinking at that moment. His stature tall and proud, his body strong as a warrior. "What will Earth look like from the moon? I have never left Earth before," Endymion asked out of the blue, his voice distant and deep. "I don't know...It must look wonderful. Like the moon does," Malachite ran a hand through his white hair, letting out a tired sigh. "Do you think people on the moon will welcome us? I mean..." Endymion faltered. "The King and Queen said they're just like us, very kind and friendly. Their princess is the most wonderful young lady in the solar system. You will like her Endymion, I am sure of it." Malachite assure him. "I've heard of her, Princess Serenity. I am looking forward to meeting her. She must be very beautiful, like the moon itself," Endymion smiled. "The Queen said she's to be your guide in the palace, my prince. You will have plenty of time to get to know her." "I hope so...by the way, when will we finally reach our destination?" the Prince asked out of the blue. "Tomorrow evening..." To be continued...
