At school, Mina was feeling depressed and bitter because all her classmates had boyfriends or girlfriends. She met Artemis as she was leaving school for the day. He said he had input all the data on the new enemies into their computer but still could not determine the enemy's true nature.	Mina wasn't listening. She said she wished a handsome man would suddenly appear with a bouquet of roses and say "Pretty girl, would you want to have a date with me, tonight?" Artemis said no one would do that.
A volleyball bounced out of the gynasium and landed near Mina. A young man came to the door of the gym and Mina volleyed the ball back to him. "Asai?" said Mina in surprise "are you still playing volleyball?" Mina was blushing a bit. Asai said he hoped to win another tournament before the high school entrance exams. Asai asked, "Why did you quit volleyball after coming back from England? Your flying somersault reception was really great." Minako said, "Actually I wanted to continue volleyball.." Then the volleyball team manager (a girl), came calling for Asai.	Later, at home, Mina was thinking about when she used to play volleyball. [Volleyball is one of the most popular sports for girls and young women in Japan.] She remembered winning a game, and Asai smiling at her and giving the "V for victory" sign.
At the Death Busters hideout, Kaolinite had made tea and cookies for the professor. The professor said he was annoyed with her continued failures. The professor commented that he felt stiff from researching too much and not playing any sports. He remembered the saying about a sound mind and sound body and decided that the next target should be someone with a pure heart dedicated to sport. Kaolinite asked what the professor's favourite sport was. He said it was "stepping stone".	The next morning, Asai met Mina on the way to school and teased her that she was on time for a change. The he asked Mina if she had a boyfriend. Mina was surprised and said she didn't. Asai said he had just been wondering. Mina asked what sort of girls he liked, and Asai said he would like a girl who would share his love of volleyball.
Asai continued, "When I was in first year, I was very impressed by you, because you were so good. I wanted to confess my feelings to you when I became a full team member. Aren't you going to play volleyball any more?" Minako said, "We're in third year now." Asai said, "That doesn't matter." Minako said, "But I'm very busy." "Studying?" "Well, lots of things.."	Asai paused for a moment and then suddenly became less serious. He said he had to run on ahead and get to volleyball practice. Asai waved and left.
Later that day the girls were having study meeting. Mina was reading a Sailor V comic and laughing very loudly. She dragged the sleeping Serena up from the table and made her look at something in the comic. Then she dropped Serena back onto the table. Serena kept sleeping. Mina read aloud from the comic book that Sailor V was very beautiful underneath her mask. "Of course she is!" said Mina, "because the anime show is based on me!" [remember in the first series how Serena was always watching the Sailor V cartoon on TV? Mina was actually the first of the girls to gain her superheroine powers and her superheroine identity at that time was Sailor V.]	Mina had brought Sailor V brand chocolates and drinks for everyone. She gave Lita a Sailor V drink can. "Oh thanks," said a puzzled Lita. Lita tried to act casually. There was a "win" ticket inside the lable of her pop can.
