On the other hand, you don't want to alert Hikaru to the fact that you are deeply in love with Madoka instead of her. That would surely break her heart. What should you do?

Then what about Hikaru? What if you are her, trying the hardest you can to win the heart of the only man you have ever loved while watching him mysteriously slipping further and further away from your grasp? The frustration must be tremendous, but you put on your best face and try your best, day after day. There is always hope that one day he will turn his heart around, no longer being pulled away from you by some unseen thing.
