The following results are obtained from vote pages in MAXimum Harmony and MAX web. The total is the final vote result. (NOTE: "MH" denotes MAXimum Harmony and "MW" denotes MAX web vote results)

1) The most popular MAX member : REINA

Comments: Perhaps what people most want to know is this section. REINA has won it, by a huge difference of 50 points. REINA received first place in both MH and MW rankings, indicating that both international and chinese MAX fans tend to like her most. Although LINA came last overall, (by some distance too :( ), but she ranked second in MW which means Lina fans don't really need to be disappointed by the results hehe. NANA and MINA are very close in terms of global popularity, which there is only a 2 points difference between them. Afterall, REINA deserves the win and is definitely the the favourite member among MAX fans. (MAX fans outside of Japan that is; and I would wonder what would happen to the rankings if Japanese fans participate in this vote too. That could be very interesting!)

Comments: Did your eyes pop out when you see the scores? I did. GIVE ME A SHAKE received 143 points altogether, coming first in MH and MW, and it is obviously the most liked song in the MAX collection. GET MY LOVE! came second, trialling a remarkable difference of 72 points~!! Yes, that is more than double. We all didn't expect such a big difference I guess. (I'm so happy that my favourite 2 songs are exactly what the results came out to be!)

Looking down the table, Shinin'On - Shinin' love came 3rd, Love is dreaming came 4th and I'll be with you came 5th. No real big surprises, but from the top five rankings, I can conclude that MAX fans favour MAX's old style rather than new, consider Hikari no VEIL, ranks number 7 behind their debut hit TORA TORA TORA. SO REAL came 13th. Many of us do like MAX's new style, including me, but undoubtedly MAX's classics is still their J-EURO style songs.

Talking about songs that are not receiving many votes, since this time you are only asked to rank the top five MAX songs of your preference, it has proven to be a very hard decision for many of us. Hence many songs didn't get a lot of points. Some songs were liked by fans voted in MH and received 0 votes in MW, such as I will. This is what surprised me too. "I will" was liked by many fans (mainly international fans) and received no points in MW. Constrastly, "STRANGER IN THE NIGHT" did alright in MW but received no points in MH. Interesting. And lastly, you probably have noticed that "ENDLESS LOVE" received no points at all. This means something, and I agree with this "something". (just my personal taste thats all)

Out of my curiosity, I did this following comparisons:
MAXIMUM VS MAXIMUM II
Since both albums have 13 songs, a comparision can be made.
MAXIMUM total points = 8+16+52+4+8+15+11+15+35+8+39+71+8=290
MAXIMUM II total points = 42+143+29+26+9+65+0+61+17+68+10+41+18=529

As you can see MAXIMUM II is more preferred than MAXIMUM by the sample of MAX fans that we have. You might disagree with this, since some of you probably like MAXIMUM better, anyhow, thats what I have found out based on the votes. (I guess MAXIMUM III will have an even higher score if we have the same vote next year? hehe)

3) Most preferred GIRLFRIEND: NANA

Comments: For those who are kind enough to submit the reasons for their choices, I would like to thanks them. Here are some of the reasons why they think NANA is suitable to be their Girlfriend (or friend if you are a girl).

Arlec: °÷ ½å ²Q (haha, I dunno how to translate it into english...)
Anthony: Nana is "Lusty"
Linda: She seems like she would be a very good big sister :)
Others mainly said that NANA is beautiful and she is their favourite member...

There were a lot of votes for Reina and Mina too, but Nana has won by 3 votes, and they received equal second. Lina.......sigh.....

4) Most PRETTY/BEAUTIFUL: NANA

Comments: NANA has again won it, this time the "Award of Prettiness" hehe. Thats quite a difference, and the scores are fairly even between MH and MW. The other 3 members are quite close, and Lina didn't came last!! woohoo!! (haha kidding) Well, I guess I will have to report some facts about the unfairness of this vote. Due to the fact that some fans (about 5-10) didn't care or didn't have the patience to fill out the rest of the vote form, they deliberately filled in 1,2,3,4 for the sections 4-6, that is, Nana has an unfair advantage because of this. (and this implies Lina and Mina should receive higher scores and the results will be more even) The reason is because the vote form listed the members in the "default formation" of MAX (thats what I call it), which is: NANA, REINA, MINA, LINA. Now you know what is unfair about this right? Me and Arlec will have to figure out ways to eliminate this unfairness for the next vote.

Anyhow it is not unreasonable for NANA to win this, as I agree, as many other fans also agree that NANA is getting prettier everyday, much more attractive then her older style. Her haircut has something to do with this too I guess. (hmmm..maybe we should have a favourite haircut vote for each member for the next vote?)

5) Best SINGER in the group: MINA

Comments: This one is interesting. I was really surprised that REINA won it in MW. I'm not saying that REINA is not a good singer, she is good, but MINA deserves the win. Look at the differences in the points between MH and MW. They are completely different. Mina was ahead of Reina by miles and in MW it is the other way around. Finally Mina came through with the victory. For NANA and LINA, I knew that not many fans have heard their individual voices, and could not judge who is better. This is understandable because they are not the chief vocalists in the group.

My personal comment as to the competition between REINA and MINA - I always would tend to agree that Mina does sings better than REINA, for example, MINA can handle high tones and extremely high tones, whereas REINA does not have the ability to do so sometimes. If you are familiar with Give me a Shake, at the end both of them had a go at the "Give me give me SHAKEEEEEE!!" line. It is evident that MINA handles that better than REINA, and one reason is because of their unique voices. Reina has a very unique, special voice that is soft, a little bit...umm hoarse?? yet very tender, and I love it; whereas Mina has a strong vocal originating from her thick solid voice base. (ooo I'm being too analytical...better stop before someone say that I'm criticising someone...hehe)

6) Best DANCER in the group: NANA

Comments: One of the easiest vote question for those who have seen either MAXIMUM CLIPS or other MAX TV appearances. (the answer is more obvious if you have seen Hey hey hey or Hit Parade or shows like that) Nana is obviously the best dancer in the group, and I would like to borrow Anthony's reason here (thanks Anthony!) : NANA can groove like there is no tomorrow. Her dancing flows like a sparkling river in the moonlight. This awesome phrase perfectly describes Nana's dance, fluid and life. She has flexible body movements, so natural that stands out in the group. Lina has the same properties as well, but perhaps Nana's skills are more noticeable. An example of Nana's fluid motions is, near the end of the Love is Dreaming MTV, where they are all walking backwards and then turn around, Nana did that move much smoother than all other members. Also in the seventies MTV where in the beginning where she held her arms together and shake her hips. Undescribable.

While Nana and Lina are ahead with some distance in the dancing department, Mina and Reina are another interesting comparison. Before, I would say that Reina can dance a lot better than Mina, Mina's motion was simply quite "stiff". (I would not dare to say this unless BJ has said this himself hehe..otherwise...) Reina is a great dancer, although not as natural as Nana and Lina, she sometimes dances really cool. One example would be the performance of "Summer Planet No.1" in Hit Parade. She simply out performed all other members in that particular case. (just my personal thoughts) Mina, on the other hand, has improved hugely over the years, recently in the Hikari no VEIL dance she performed exceptionally well. No further signs of "stiffness" and her dance is comparable to REINA and others.

7) Potential to become a solo performer/artist/singer

Comments: As you can see most fans believe that Mina has the ability and potential to be successful on her own. There are many views to this and from the results I would say that Mina, Reina and Nana all 3, believed by MAX fans that they can do well individually. (of course we don't want them to separate!) Mina sings well, Nana dances well and has leadership properties, and Reina has the image that we all can remember. Lina, we all hope that you can show us more of your great talents!! Unleash them!!

Comments: This is something I made up, and is not neccessarily accurate. Just want to do the calculations for you so that you have an idea of what the results shows. Nana and Mina are dominating, and Reina is very close as well, since she is very talented in all aspects. Linaaaaa~~~!! Ganbare!!
Once again I want to remind you that Lina was placed at a disadvantage because of some fans didn't vote properly.
