Inspired by the monthly U.K. Practical Wireless and Television magazine DX TV columns, I installed a hand-rotatable Hills 104/0 five element single channel 0 (45-52 MHz) yagi antenna in September 1979. Around the same time, my father had given me his second-hand early 1970s Polaroid colorpack instant camera. The Polaroid camera was used for my initial TV DX photo attempts during August 1979 to late 1980. Taking photos with this camera was a bit of a hit or miss affair. One had to carefully time the exposure length in order to avoid over or under exposing the film. In 1981, the Polaroid was replaced by a AGFA Agfamatic 1008 tele pocket 110 mm camera. In early 1982, I upgraded to a Pentax K-1000 35mm camera. Separate web pages, including my DX TV photos for these other camera formats, are almost complete.
All of the Polaroid colorpack instant camera off-screen TV photos included on this page are my first DX photo attempts from Sydney, Australia. Antenna photos were taken with two other separate camera formats.
