a summary of my activities in september 2002 write me!
9/4 Well I tried to update a few days ago, but after I finished typing everything, the page wouldn't load and it wouldn't save, so it never really posted. Sad, sad, sad. Let's see... this year I'm in Theory IV, Brass Methods, Music History 1750-present, Vocal Jazz Techniques, ACap Choir, Advanced Elementary Techniques, Elementary Instruments, and Jazz Singers. 14 hours. Everything seems to be going pretty well so far. I think probably the worst class is music history. Ew. Outside of that, I like all my classes. Theory IV I've done before, so the material isn't too confusing, but the teacher is nuts. You're going to want to check out the quote section for gems from him pretty often. Brass is alright... playing cornet the first half of the semester. Then Music History... like I said, ew. Vocal Jazz Techniques could be pretty rough since I don't really have the ear training skills to back it up, but Rosana's cool and she likes me, and there's a million people that can help me out. ACap is ACap... still hate my section leader. Laura. Uptight. ugh. Advanced Elementary Tech is cool... 8 people in my class... it's an onsite oservation/hands on class in which we have two different 2nd grade classes, and we start the semester just observing, and then by the end of the semester, the 8 of us students are totally in charge of everything that goes on in the class. Elementary Instruments is my Monday night class with Ms. Hudnall. Shouldn't be hard at all. And finally Jazz Singers. We get to sing at IAJE this year, which is in January in Toronto. woo hoo! So, that's cool. That's really pretty much all I have to say (or for that matter have time to say) at the moment. So I'll leave it at that.
9/24 Hi everybody! Back again. I am sitting at home in Denton right now, just about to start getting ready for tonight's choir concert. I went and got my hair cut earlier today. Still trying to decide what I think of it. I don't think I like the way she styled it, but the cut itself is ok. So, I got a haircut and picked up my dress from the drycleaner, and I'm all set. Hurrah for Choral Fest. All is well. Lots of stuff going on, just school. Had a paper due yesterday in music history (gag me), did a vocal transcription for vocal jazz techniques, etc etc. Something in every class these days. Everything is good though. There's not really that much going on, really, as far as webpage-worthy interesting stuff. Or at least, not that I can think of right now. [shrug] For now, I've really got to go do the grooming thing for the concert. More another time.
