a summary of my activities in september 2000 write me!
9/2 Writing this morning while watching cheezy Saturday morning programming... I should mention that I'm in Plano too... this weekend, Chuck is out of town and thusly, I am staying in the Plano/North Dallas area to do the cat-care. Tonight is Mulberry Street at The Door... and then tomorrow is the same ole same ole at church. Plans for the day include such hits as updating this page, watching a little college football, reading up on some government, practicing some piano, learning my new voice repetoire, etc. And, my mom just got here, and it looks like I need to bathe ASAP so we can go to Austin Avenue... score!
9/4 Duuuuuuuuuude I had such a great and enjoyable and relaxing day! I slept until 10 and got up and messed around online... I think I downloaded almost 50 songs today. I re-did my profile. (That took forever, so you better go read it!) I watched an *NSync concert that was on the FOX Family channel this afternoon (duh I recorded it too)... and then we had dinner and I did some government homework and just sort of lazed around... I didn't do all that much today, but I got everything done that I needed to for tomorrow. All that and I didn't leave the room so much as once! I didn't even get dressed!!!!! yesssssssssssss..... that, my friends, is the mark of a spectacular day! haha So, yeah... that's really all there is for today. I did not much. =) More at a later time...
9/5 Just writing a quickie in my free hour between choir and departmental... (normally I'll have studio class, but not yet)... I paid my rent today and changed the meet-time of my voice lesson... I switched with this guy in my studio who needed my time... so now I'm Wednesday's at 3. Which makes my Tuesday and Wednesday closer to equally vocally strenuous, as opposed to having a heavy Tuesday. So... I don't really know that much else has gone on today... just sort of doing classes. Grand chorus tonight... woo-hoo. heh heh... Well, I should actually run now. Ooh but before I go... my best discovery of the day... Nine Inch Nails "Head Like a Hole" exactly matches my personal cross-campus walking pace. I just found it funny as I was listening to it today... I was walking in time across campus, feeling very much like I was in a movie or a music video or something... haha.... ok... that's all from here.
9/8 Hello again to all. today, I write from a Mac (ooh, aah) in the Ear Training lab... Right now it is right at 9:04 am and I have a free hour because music theory is a Monday Wednesday, no Friday course. So, I'm killing an hour before Aural Skilz. As far as news that's going on in my world... well... last night was the MTV VMA's, which were highly disappointing as usual. ha. I remember being disappointed by them last year. I haven't gone back to read what I said about them last year, but I remember that Tim and I had arranged our entire week around them. We made a point of getting all our work done early so we didn't have any responsibilities during the actual show... And then Chris Rock was so... Chris Rock. By the end of the show, I think we were just pleased that the MTV people hadn't done anything too terribly awful to our beloved (well, mostly Timmy's beloved, but still) Metropolitan Opera House. Ah well. I will say though, to those of you that watched it, that if MTV is stupid enough to hire ANOTHER racially pigeonholed host or hosts next year... well, I may just not bother watching. They need to take a cue from the audience reaction and get Jim Carrey, aka the Only Person That Made Me Laugh. (well, actually, Eminem said some funny stuff too.... but I hang my head in shame for granting him laughter) Ah, but anyway... other news. Andrea Chapman is selling her car. My AC died last Saturday. She's selling it for only $4,000 for a 96 Neon with 80,000 miles. To me, that's a really good deal. Unfortunately, I don't have that kind of money, and at this precise moment in time, my parents don't need another big ticket expense. (Can we say condo? I think Chuck can!) Hm. So, I've been brainstorming on the "How To Get Rich Quick" ideas, but so far I've come up dry. Hm. If I could get 20 bucks from 200 people.... hahahaha... THAT'S IT! I'LL GO ON A MUGGING SPREE! yikes, bikes. Ah well.... maybe it's just not right or something... who knows. In the end, there's not really a lot I can do about it. Ok... well... I'm going to actually go ahead and do some ear training and that sort of thing... more later...
9/14 Hello all! Well, today is my happy catch up day, after a couple of grueling days. Tuesdays and Wednesdays are going to be hard all around. But luckily my Thursdays aren't bad at all. So, today I'm taking out a little time to try to update the page, catch up on lyrics, update my grades, all that sort of thing... as far as news in my life... well, things are going pretty good. The Sunday/Wednesday commute isn't all bad. In fact, it offers me a nice break from Denton... things can get a little monotonous and the commute shakes things up a little, which is certainly nice... classes are good. Conducting is sort of a weird class, in that I guess I just feel like I do pretty fine on my own, thanks, and they're training me all this hoity-toity baton-weilding kind of stuff.... which to me is just kinda icky. So, it's just getting to be a sort of annoying class. I have a paper due in there next week... I have to observe a conductor at rehearsal... I cleared it with my teacher for me to just write up the New Horizon Choir practice this Sunday, since I'll be there anyway. Theory is going good... I don't know if we moved quickly at IU, or if they go slow at UNT or if they're just still reviewing... but so far they haven't really gotten into anything I wasn't pretty comfortable with already... so that's good. Aural Skilz is going well also... my teacher appears to have some concept of what we're capable of, unlike my teacher last semester. So, that's refreshing, most definnitely. Piano is good... I still have some performance anxiety to get over... =) I get a little overly stressed at test time, which causes more errors... but overall things have been good so far. Jazz Singers II is going well, so far I think we're working on 5 or 6 pieces. They're really nice pieces... really pretty... I had my first quiz in Italian Diction today and did totally great on it I think... and governemnt is surprisingly entertaining, as a class and keeps me awake! WOW! But, I'm going to go to choir now... so...... more later
9/22 Well, I didn't think anyone ever really read the site, so I kinda didn't have it on the top (or, let's be honest, even the bottom) of my priority list... but, today my brother (Wayne) complained at my lack of updates... and thusly, an update! I guess the main reason I haven't been updating is I don't feel like there's a whole lot going on really.... but I'll try to come up with something. One fun (not really) thing is that I have pink eye. haha! yes, indeedy! The pink eye, she is mine! So that's been fun. As a result of that, I've been to the health center today, and I got some special eyedrops that are helping immensely. I have quite a headache, but I'm dealing. Let's see..... I've been watching the Olympics, which is way fun... Uhhhhh... Clint came over today and stayed for a few hours. We mostly just talked, watched part of a video and a CD that he's letting me borrow. Let's see.... ummm... I can't really think of too much else to say... OH! I know one thing. Up until now I've had a Commuter Lot Parking Sticker.... because they ran out of Resident stickers at the beginning of the year. And they now have more Resident stickers (yea!) so as soon as I peel the C sticker off my car, I can trade it in for an R! woo-hoo! hmmmmmm..... but that's really all I have to say.... so... that's it.
9/25 Check it! I'm totally updating the page for the second time in only three days! Happy, Wayne? haha... Well, today's news includes: I got a resident parking pass! So, now, just as I have paid my debt (of parking tickets) to UNT... they are paying their debt to me! Yessssssssssss..... Let's see... what else... I have a choir concert tomorrow night, which has potential to be quite good, I think... and there might even be some people I know that come! How neat would that be? On a similar note, I decided that what I want for my birthday is for a lot of people to come to the jazz singers II concert on Friday the 17th. That's what I want. =) But, nobody actually reads this site, and thusly, I don't actually expect it to happen.... but it is what I want. I'm about to go right now to Payless to get some appropriate shoes for tomorrow's concert (must be closed-toe) and then I've got some piano practice to do and some government homework also... There was a sectional tonight for jazz girls and WE SOUND SO GOOD! I was like, whoa. haha I'm so totally enjoying this! yea! Oh and it was so pleasantly chilly today! I wore a long sleeved shirt! I love this shirt! It's so brown! Yea!!!!! Alright... well.... I need to go now... later days, all...
9/29 Well... long story short... I spent about an hour updating this page this morning and then geocities had a fit and refused to save... so... I'm not going to put another hour in right now. Sorry! haha... So... things are good.... that'll do for now. =)
