a summary of my activities in october 2001 write me!
10/2 Hello all, and welcome to October 2001... a month in which BUFFY LIVES! hehe The Buffy The Vampire Slayer premeire was tonight, and I haven't watched it yet, but I'm very much looking forward to it. We had Grand Chorus during the original airtime of it, so we recorded the whole 2 hours of it. Now, we're just waiting for Pat to get off work so we can have a little Buffy party and watch it all together. Mmmmm. But yes, they killed Buffy last season, and they're supposed to resurrect her tonight. Hurrah! In other news... I'm real busy. Tomorrow the thing of the day is I have a voice lesson, which is just not the same bag of chips it used to be with Sundquist, because Mrs. McCoy is very hard-work-oriented, unlike Mr. Sudquist... she's very into word-by-word translations and knowing about the composers and/or the operas the arias come from, and all that stuff. blaaaaaah. So, I have to prepare for voice lessons. What's that about? ha. Um... also tomorrow is my big ugly teaching day in Wylie. Three students... we'll see what I do with them. Hm. We must pick songs tomorrow for the winter recital. Hm. That's the meat of tomorrow though. I think Chancel Choir is cancelled because of fall break. Ah, fall break, I miss thee so. All my little PISD buddies are enjoying their break, I think, with the possible exception of Ethan who appears to be working his tail off at the bank. Danielle, however, spent today visiting A&M... and of course the ever-popular Clint is on a cruise in the ever-popular Western Carribean. Ooh ahh. That's really about as exciting as it gets. I don't have too much of anything huge going on right now. I mean, there's the student review Thursday, but I'm told that while, yeah, that's a big deal and you want to pass it and all, it's not actually all that difficult and whatnot. So... I don't know. Other than that, I'm pretty much just working a lot and trying to get stuff done. Right now, I'm going to write my grandmother a letter and do some French translations. And that's life! So, I'll update again later.
10/7 Writing just before I hang it up and call it bedtime, even though it's only 9:50 on a Sunday night. I'm tired, and tomorrow's a long one, so I need the rest. Tomorrow I have Woodwinds, English Diction, Pop Music, Theory IV, Phys Ed, a rehearsal with my accompanist, choir, and then work 4-close. There's no break in there, by the way. [sigh] I'm not complaining, don't get me wrong, it's fine... I'm just saying it'll make for a long day. But hours are good and money is good, and being busy keeps you honest. So, it's all good. Hm. For right now, I'm getting real tired though. So, bedtime.
10/12 Well, let's see. Life is good. =) Not too much to report really... just, life is good. I just got out of Pop Music class, which was preceded by Woodwinds. Both good classes. I have a test in Phys Ed in about a half hour, which I'm hoping isn't too big of a whoop. [shrug] After that, I'm working a short shift and then coming back to sing at the UNT Homecoming festivites. You know what's weird? I think they renamed Avenue D today, and they really didn't say anything about it. I may be the only person who thinks that's weird... I don't know. But, leaving campus just now, it had a normal little street sign that said North Texas Boulevard. WhatEVER! haha It's so funny when they pretend to think that people care about football here. heh. Ah well.... I really don't have time to write much more.... so... I won't.
10/16 Well, let's see, what shall I write about today. Today's been a good day. I'm writing while half-watching Passions (such a guilty pleasure) in the free time I have before Studio class. Then I have departMental and Grand Scream. And I get to record Buffy tonight, and watch it! Hurrah! I've missed the last few episodes of all my favorite shows, because Sara's VCR unexpectedly flaked on us last week... but thanks to my parents (THANKS, PARENTS!) I now have a brand new VCR of my very own... an early birthday present. Isn't that sweet? I think it is. Hm. So let's see.... I've colored my hair... again. And that is, I've colored it AGAIN... so if you saw me on Sunday or Monday and you think you know what color my hair is.... you don't. haha I changed my mind. No "tropic" this year. This year, it's all about "Sable Cove". Ooooooooh. Yeah, I said sable. That's almost black, kids. Yeah, it's pretty dark, but I think I like it. =) In other news... only one more rehearsal until my first real performance with JS1. Hm. What else... I think maybe that just about covers it. So... I'm off to studio now.
10/26 Well I've just come home from a party... almost forgot I don't like parties. I always forget that, and then I go to one, and I'm like... ehhh... So, this one was a choir party, for the most part. Costume party. There was supposed to be karaoke, but at the last minute, that got ditched. So I dressed up as Daria... good times... and I went. There were a lot of people I knew, a few people I like... so I talked to them for a while... stayed at the party about 2 hours but then I bailed. So it's not really all that late now, but I do have an awful headache... I don't know what that's about. Loud music maybe? But that makes no sense. So, whatever. I'm going to head off to bed here before too long, I think... I have to be up early in the morning for a practice for the Brahms Requiem deal tomorrow, and then I work after that. I'm guessing I'll spend the night in Plano, probably. Hm. Well, that's it.... bedtime.
