a summary of my activities in november 2004 write me!
11/3 Well, it's the day after Election Day. And the good news is, this time it wasn't Election Month. That's nice. The whole President Bush thing isn't what I was hoping for, however. So... I'm absorbing. I'm relatively OK with everything... the only thing that really really really ticks me off is hearing that pretty much the same 17% of voters 18-26 (or whatever it is that they consider young) came out to vote. And I hear comments from these 40- or 50- something newscasters.... like... "Well, that age group, my children included [chuckle chuckle], well, the fact is, they're not interested in standing in line for an hour to vote, much less several hours. Patience is not their greatest virtue." or "That demographic has traditionally been the most apathetic, the ones least likely to vote. The fact is, as you get older, you get smarter... and... well, they're young. [chuckle, chuckle]" Yeah. That ticks me off. I just get mad at my demographic. Maybe by the next election I'll be old and Republican, and potentially just a touch less bitter. Let's pray for that. I'm sure if you don't on your own, Bush will legislate it soon. [sigh] OK... I'm absorbing, I promise... I'll be OK soon. [sigh] I've already peeled off my Kerry/Edwards bumper sticker... not because I'm ashamed to have supported the losing candidate, or whatever.... but because, I do think that now is the time to shut up and be American. We're very divided, and we've got to find something to unite about. So... I guess the country's choice for president is a good enough start. So, I'm going to try. But I need a little absorb-time. [sigh] It's a good thing I didn't go to school today. My kids would've caught The Wrath Of The Sleep-Deprived Democrat. I don't think I mentioned... yesterday was Pat's birthday... and so, he didn't get what he wanted (new president)... but we did have a good time, despite the whole no new president thing. Dad, if you read this, you'll be happy to know that I have shed no tears (unlike in 2000) and so I choose to believe that I'm growing up a little. Let's hope. hehe. Well.... for now, I'm off.... lots to do on my one random day off.
11/13 Ahhhh.... Saturdays are so good! Today has been lovely so far. It is 2:15 and I am still in my pajamas.... I'm done 4 loads of laundry, haven't taken a shower, I've vacuumed, cleaned the kitchen and my closet, and watched a whole lot of Celebrity Poker on Bravo. Woo-hoo! I don't really have a whole lot to report. I was going to try to get some grades done today and the like, but remote access isn't working for some reason, so no dice. But it's just as well.... I need to rest up today, as this week is going to be BUSY! Tomorrow is the busy version of Sunday, with Bluegrass practice, Disciple, SpiritDoves, Healing Serivce, and CABS. Monday I'm going to the RMS bofs basketball game because I have girls singing the National Anthem.... Tuesday I'm going over to PSHS to help with their show. Wednesday I'm going to see Claire in the Williams play. Thursday is a meeting for the Masters Program, then Texas Voices practice. Friday is my birthday and I'm still debating between the PESH show or the PSHS show... whichever one I don't do on Friday, I'll do Saturday. Exciting!!! Woo! Andrew just called ot tell me he just bought my birthday gift, but he won't tell me anything about it. Hmm. Anyway... I'm going to update my wishlist now..... just in case.... haha. Later!
