6/2 Well really it's early morning 6/3 but who's counting. I decided to do a little update since I hadn't done so since November 2002. In a couple of days I leave on New Horizon Choir tour 2003, to St. Louis and Little Rock this year. The original plan was Canada, but due to SARS and lack of planning, we changed the destination. This year I'm directing about 2/3 of the tour literature. Oooooh. We're gone the 5th through the 14th. Home concert on the 15th. On the 16th, Clint and I are going to see Red Hot Chili Peppers and Snoop Dogg. Sara and Pat's wedding is Saturday the 21st at FUMC. THe next day I go to Denton to sing for the opening session of the UNT Jazz Summer Workshop. The 26th will find me at the Christina Aguilera/Justin Timberlake concert with Dani Roberts (Clint's girlfriend). I'm singing at a stranger's wedding on the 28th. That's pretty much June in a nutshell, but I'll try to update more at some point while I'm at it.
6/17 It's the wee small hours of the morning of June 17th and I should have gone to bed about 3 and a half hours ago when I got home. But, somewhere in there I decided I should update this site, and I've been trying to get it updated for the last couple of hours. I get randomly disconnected from time to time, so it takes a while. Plus I'm playing hearts some too. Tonight was the much anticipated Snoop Dogg/RHCP concert. It was pretty alright. I don't know much of RHCP's new stuff, so that portion fo the program was kind of whatever, but the stuff I knew was fun to hear live. I officially went with Clint but we saw Roberts and Richoux there, as well as some other mutual friend types. Johnny Hall was supposedly there, although we never saw him. Robin Everhart (bass player from JS1) was there, so that was a fun thing. Like I said, we got back a few hours ago, so I am recovering well, not overly tired, apparently. Tomorrow is an errand running day with Sara. I have a bridesmaid dress fitting at noon. After that she has the test run of hair and makeup, followed by her bridal portrait sitting. Somewhere in there I need to get a spray-on tan, so my tan lines will go away for the wedding. Let's see... choir tour was the order of the day for the last week and a half or so. It was a really good tour this year. Lots of good mission opportunities, and the kids sang well and got along well. What more can you ask? Well... you could ask for cool chaperones, but you might be pushing it. ha. No major chaperone drama, really, just a couple of adults that were annoying. Other news... while I was away, Mom and Dad officially purchased a house in Raleigh, and Dad tells me that no matter what happens with his employment situation, they are prepared and planning to stay in North Carolina indefinitely. They are, however, flying in on Friday ro stay with me for a couple nights for Sara's wedding. Yep... my best friend is really getting married... on Saturday. Wow. Crazy times. I still think of us as about 19 or 20. Sara's 23. I just realized that the other day. Not that 23 is old... I'm not trying to be one of those people that says a really young age and then pretends to think it's old... no, 23 is not "old" by any means... but it's certainly well within the window of sanity for marriage. So... there's that. The only other thing I can really think to report right now is that for some reason that I have not yet figured out, Caramia by the Indigo Girls has been in my head for the last 3 or 4 hours... and for the most recent 2 of those hours I've had it on repeat play to see if I can conjur up any sort of meaning to the lyrics. No real luck thus far. ha. Ah well. I guess that's it... I'll go to bed now.
6/25 Well friends, the wedding has come and gone and I got my first official honeymoon phonecall today from the lovely Mrs. Sara Burt. The happy couple has arrived in Alaska and today enjoys a day of sightseeing, shopping, etc. Unfortunately, I didn't get to talk to Mrs. Burt myself, as I was at work, but I did get a voice mail. So that was nice. This week is sort of my recovery week from the last 3 or 4 weeks. I'm working some at C&E but really only every other day (MWF). Tuesday, yesterday, I did laundry and some cleaning before bringing Clint dinner at church and having some coffeeshop time. Tomorrow I go to the Christina/Justin concert with Claire. Saturday I will probably spend some of the day at Southfork Ranch for their KLTY concert thingy if Clint can score free parking for me. That evening I sing at a wedding at church. Most of July looks to be blissfully uneventful. I'm working about 20 hours a week, volunteering some at church, and sleeping. ha. Right now, my internet (pirated from UTA) is not working, so I'm at the Plano Library doing the email, online banking, webpage updating routine. I expect a phone call from Clint any minute pleading for dinner. That's about it from here. I will update again another time.
