8/5 Well it's been a really long time since I last updated, and a whole lot has happened as far as pretty major life events. The main big ugly thing is that my parents moved to North Carolina. My Dad has taken a 6-month (at least) contract in Research Triangle Park (aka Durham) and he started work back on July 1st. Mom has since moved up there with him... they have a one-bedroom apartment up there, and from what I can tell they're having a lovely time of it. Mom is working at her leisure for a Bright Horizons center nearby (the same folks that run JCP's corporate childcare in Plano). So, I talk to my parents every so often... but in the meantime I'm here in the house by myself. There are no immediate plans to sell the house, but come the start of school, I move into the dorm in Denton and I guess if my parents decide they just love NC and they're going to stay forever, then they might sell. So, that's the biggest news from this summer. Right now I'm in Summer School for the rest of this week. Then I've got a week to myself, followed by a week to move into College Inn. This year I got a new roommate... her name is Theresa and she's one of my friends from the coffeeshop... an employee there actually. Other new arrivals in Denton this year include Richoux (friend of mine through Clint, first name Michael) and Christi, Clint's soon to be new girlfriend. Oops! Was that out loud? hahaha Christi is going to be at TWU, Richoux is at UNT. As far as the rest of my friends, the infamous Clint is commuting to classes at UTArlington 3 days a week. The other 2 weekdays, he's hoping to continue doing a little construction, as he has been for the rest of the summer. He's currently on a job in... you guessed it... Denton... so I guess I may see him around from time to time as well. Other college bound cuties include Danielle and Ethan, who are A&M bound in about two weeks. [sigh] Right now, I really ought to go to bed, though.... so.... I'm off for now, but I really will come back sometime soon to update further.
8/6 Well, I'll just take a second to remind everyone of what daily life consists of just now. I spent the morning in summer school then came home to do a little cleaning up... which consists of throwing away diet dr. pepper cans and frozen dinner trays and loading the dishwasher, etc etc. Then I took a shower and got dressed for work, whch is where I'm about to go. I'm still working at Crabtree & Evelyn, it's been just over a year now. I'm proud of myself... I knew I could keep a job for longer than a semester if they'd just give me a chance! haha Yeah yeah, these days I even get to wear the silver pin for selling $35,000 worth of stuff. I expect the gold pin after a (hopefully) busy Christmas season. Gold is $75,000 and I get business cards after that. How cool am I? haha These days we've got a staff of 5 out at Crabtree. Blaire is leaving for college atthe end of the month, so after that it's just me and Brandy (the manager), Judy ("I'm so tired, I'm so busy, blaaaaah" "SHUT UP JUDY!"), and Stefani who is great fun. Brandy is interviewing folks for another key holder position, including the lovely and talented Andrea Chapman. So, that could be cool. These days it's pretty much me and Stefani or Brandy and Judy, with Blaire filling in some random afternoon hours when it gets busy. Stefani and Brandy are openers, and Judy and I are closers. heh. Anyway, oh, I'm Employee of the Month. haha I got a mall gift certificate and the entire "$100 Bag" of damaged goods, old testers, and returns. It's called the $100 Bag because we usually get to pick one item out for every sale we have that totals over $100. But it's all mine now! muahahaha! Anyway... I guess that's really about it here, at least for now. I've got to be at work in just a bit.
8/15 Hi all. This week has been a pretty busy little week, all things considered. My mom is back in town for the time being to help me get settled in to Denton for the new school year. I get to start moving in to College Inn on Sunday... Right now, I'm mostly working a lot and trying to complete a little Defensive Driving thingy in my "spare time". The only thing that makes it tricky is I don't have the internet at my house at this moment, and that's how I have to take the quizzes. The connection we had been using in Plano to get to the internet for the past couple of years was a connection through NTR, the company Chuck worked for back in The Day... the company he resigned from at the end of 1999. Well, they had a sudden burst of efficiency two days ago, and finally deleted Chuck's username and password, 2 1/2 years after he left the company. But, that means that right now I'm writing from Ethan's house, where I'm mooching the internet to register for Defensive Driving, do my online banking, check my email, and update the site. Anyway... I have until September 10th to get this whole Defensive Driving thing taken care of. So, such is the plan. I have to go to Dallas sometime tomorrow to get my driving record and whatnot. [sigh] Anyway, that's enough updating for now I think.... so long.
