1969 Corvette Rebuild
This is a car I found for my Dad down here in 1983. He wanted to restore one and this made a good canidate. The car was in much better shape when he had it but he parked it in a barn in Wisconsin for 10+ years without beginning the restoration and the mice and other critters made a home out of it. When I got the car back the complete interior was destroyed and most of the wiring was chewed. What a mess! The car was originally owned by a famous Texas country singer's (Mickey Gilley)son. It was forest green with matching forest green interior (YUK!). The car was rare in the fact that it is a 427 ci with a four speed tranny. It had the high horsepower 427 in it and that's what I plan on putting back in. I have the motor all I need to do is drop it in. My plans are to make a nice street rod out of it. I'm not going to bother trying to bring it back to original because I cant stand the original colors. I plan on painting the car a nice bright red and put in a tan leather interior. As you can see by the pics, I have a long way to go and the car is in real rough shape. But oh what the car will look like when I get done. The body is ready to be lifted off and then I will begin the chassis restoration. I'll keep updating the page as work progresses. Last update 6/22/99
