Once you arrive in our lands you will have to make a few important choices immediately. Specifically choosing your name, race and profession. Please remember that when you are choosing your name you will be playing in a fantasy world, and your name should fit that genre. Also, please be original. There are five races, and seven professions that the mortal character may chose from. They are as follows: (click a name to find out more about that race/class)
RACES: Elf, Human, Dwarf, Gnome and Half-ogre.
CLASSES: Warrior, Thief, Mage, Cleric, Ranger, Druid and Paladin.
Once you have made your choices you will find yourself in the hometown of your chosen race. Before you do anything else at this point I would highly recommend you type "newbie", "info" and then "help", and then read everything that it tells you about your class and all the skills and or spells you may have. Once you have done that and you think you are ready you might try asking for some assistance getting started. Try typing the following "gos Hi, I'm new here and I was wondering if anyone would be able to give me a hand." Now I will give you fair warning, the Edge is a fairly difficult mud to play, and while there are a lot of nice people, there are also some assholes. So if no one responds to your request, try doing things on your own. Near every starting town is a newbie area with easy mobs, look for some sort of sign near where you start. Just remember to "consider" every monster before attacking it.
